*Seeking Director - Summer 2022 | Cleveland Shakespeare Festival* Cleveland Shakespeare Festival is seeking an Ohio-based director to mount a comedy (from or inspired by William Shakespeare) for their 25th Season. Interested candidates should submit proposals no later than Monday, September 20 at 11:59pm. *Submit Proposal(s) at: *www.cleveshakes.org/directing *Plays Under Consideration:* Comedic plays from the Shakespeare canon, and/or plays inspired by William Shakespeare or his works. *Plays NOT Under Consideration:* *The Comedy of Errors, Much Ado About Nothing, Twelfth Night* *Rehearsals & Timeline:* Summer rehearsals to begin in June with opening night slated for Friday, July 22. Exact rehearsal schedule will be determined by director and production team. *Production: *All CSF summer shows are produced to tour across northeast Ohio and perform outdoors in parks and recreational areas, with each show being held in a different venue and presented free of charge to all audiences. If you are a previous season ticket holder you may call now for tickets! 440-988-5613 Our first show will be PANACHE By Don Gordon Directed By Pat Price In his off-Broadway hit comedy, Panache, playwright Don Gordon creates an unusual relationship between Harry, a fry cook cum artist, depressed by a tragic event in his life, and Kathleen, an upper-class married woman, who turns up at his shabby apartment on an unlikely mission: to obtain the personalized license plate reading PANACHE that has already been issued to Harry. Surely Harry was meant to receive the plate PANCAKE that the DMV has sent her. Harry has his reasons for refusing to exchange plates. Kathleen resolves to use her feminine charms and her checkbook to make Harry fork over the goods. But nothing is simple, and what begins as a ridiculous squabble over a seemingly unimportant matter turns into a poignant, funny, and bumpy ride toward the mending of two broken lives. Panache runs October 7, 8, 9, 15, 16 at 7:30 p.m. Sundays October 10 and 17 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $17. All tickets must be reserved and paid for in advance. The position covers the overlapping areas of marketing communications, engagement, and development work. This staff member will work closely with the two co-directors of the festival, as well as with sub-contractors, vendors and seasonal staff according to the festival cycle. * Marketing: primary staff contact supervising marketing, website, and social media subcontractors for the festival. During the off-season, will serve as the communications/marketing lead for the organization, including press/media relations, content creation and brand promotion. * Engagement: work with the BorderLight team to identify and develop new audiences for the festival, while actively supporting and reporting on the organization's audience development and community engagement goals as we aim to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive festival. * Advancement: assist with sponsorships, donor/patron database management, development communications, sponsor/donor recognition, benefits tracking, and board engagement efforts. Terms: Part-time position from October 1, 2021, with longer hours and pro-rated pay during biennial festival season. Performances are September 17 to October 2 on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 pm with a matinee performance on Sunday September 26 at 2 p.m. *Sherlock Holmes is dead. Or so it is assumed. The world knows the great detective went over the falls at Reichenbach with his nemesis Professor Moriarty. But as Holmes’ body was never retrieved, a number of frauds, fakes, and charlatans have come forward since to lay claim to his identity, and it falls to Dr. Watson to disprove them. Then a telegram arrives informing Watson that three men, each claiming to be Holmes, have been committed to a remote asylum off the coast of Scotland. Our show the Princess and the Pumpkin needs another pumpkin. Paisley Pumpkin is a pumpkin in human form. She is best friends with Princess Melrose. She doesn't speak but communicates in her own way that everyone seems to understand. She is sweet, loveable and innocent. We open Friday Sept 10. So we need you NOW.
