CPT is hiring a Project Assistant for Station Hope9. The Project Assistant reports to the Co-Line Producer India Nicole Burton. The Project assistants work includes: * Arrange and conduct walkthroughs with artistic teams to orient them to the space and clarify schedule, expectations, and protocols for the event. * Collaborate with local organizations to coordinate Activate Hope. (Activate Hope is a physical space in St. John's church, that acts as a conduit to inspire patrons to get involved in their communities' outreach and social and economic support organizations. * Accurately track and document contact information for all involved including artists and stage managers. This work requires knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Excel * Assist artists in pulling props or furniture as needed, for their pieces, which may require lifting up to 25 pounds. * Assist line producer in scheduling, conducting and documenting various production related meetings with CPT staff, artists, technicians, designers and stage managers * Work closely with Line Producer to organize and oversee Dress and Tech rehearsals * Arrange working meals and other support for the full team * Other duties as assigned to support line production of Station Hope9. The Station Hope Project Assistant will be required to show proof of vaccination. Cleveland Public Theatre follow's CDC Covid- 19 Protocol and Restrictions. The Project Assistant for Station Hope9 total salary is $1625 with a rate of $325 per week for 5 weeks. Final Weekend of NEOMFA Playwrights Festival- Tickets are selling fast!

For the eleventh year, convergence-continuum continues its successful collaboration with the Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts (NEOMFA) in Creative Writing Program. The Festival runs two weekends, Thursday-Saturday at 8 pm, with different plays each weekend. Week 2 (Feb 17-19) features the one-act play Are We There Yet? by Laura Barbieri, directed by JC Cifranic, and the Full length Play Six-Bullets Faith by Justin Lazor, directed by Amy Bistok. The Week 2 plays feature the following cast members in various roles: Denise Astorino, Sarah Blubaugh, Greg Mandryk, Lifan Deng, Lynna Metrisin, David Munnell, Amanda Rowe-Van Allen, David Thonnings, and Kim Woodworth. The 2020 NEOMFA Playwrights Festival opens Thursday, Feb. 10 and runs at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Feb. 19 at the Liminis Theater, 2438 Scranton Rd., Cleveland, OH 44113 in the historic Tremont neighborhood. Auditions for "Mauritius" at Stow Players!

Auditions for Stow Players production of "Mauritius" directed by Brian Westerley are set for Monday December 6th at 7PM and Tuesday December 7th at 7PM at the Heritage Barn in Silver Springs Park in Stow, Ohio. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Rehearsals will begin on or around December 12th. Performances will be Feb. 4th through February 19th. Cast: Jackie (female) - age 25-35 Mary (female) - age 35-50 Sterling (male) - age 50-65 Phillip (male) - age 45-60 Dennis (male) - age 30-45 When her mother dies after an expensive illness and a lifetime of bad choices, tentative but tenacious young Jackie is left with a mound of debt. One glimmer of hope: a stamp collection, potentially valuable, is among her assets. Philip, the brusque and arrogant stamp dealer to whom she takes the collection, won’t even take a look without his $2000 fee. Charming Dennis, a former stamp collector and small-time grifter down on his luck, who just happens to be hanging out in Philip’s shop, is only too willing to look at Jackie’s collection. Discovering two Mauritius “Post Office” stamps, the “crown jewel of philately,” in the old album, he is overjoyed. Dennis assumes that unassuming Jackie will be easy to scam, and contacts Sterling, an incredibly rich and remorselessly violent “international businessman” who is an obsessive stamp fancier, promising him an easy purchase. Meanwhile Jackie, whose secret well of rage and resourcefulness makes her no-one’s “lamb,” runs into obstacles of her own: her educated, refined, estranged, much older half-sister, Mary, claims the stamp collection as her own -- an inheritance from her paternal grandfather -- and refuses to sell, citing it’s inherent spiritual and cultural value. Will Jackie change her luck and her life? Will Dennis let his increasing interest in Jackie interfere with his trickster persona? Will Philip’s ancient grudge against Sterling play a role?
