Prelude2Cinema is building a Metaverse “Metaverse” is the new “Blockchain” and in the way that Blockland Cleveland involved the community, Prelude2Cinema wants to involve the community in building our Metaverse, which will be using a lot of the elements from our pitch “Starving Artists 2 Working Artists,” which launched at the Cleveland Leadership Center 2021 Accelerate event. While paying homage to the Blockland Cleveland model, there will be distinct differences. This is an evolving model but there is a Facebook group and the second phase of our nonprofit campaign. For years now, Chagrin Arts has allied itself with the *Ohio Innocence Project,* a legal team whose mission is to fight for and free those who have been wrongfully incarcerated, sometimes for decades. They also work to fix the legal systems that convict the innocent. For several years now, figurative artist, Judy <https://judytakacs.com/> Takács <https://judytakacs.com/> has been re-imagining the characters from the mythology of all the religions. She seeks to correct stereotypes, prejudices and damaging narratives that haunt us today. In researching age-old mythology, Takács’ Goddess Project has found many women and goddesses, who were wrongfully punished, held in captivity, and vilified in the eyes of the world. Their fictitious stories parallel today’s headlines. Medusa’s was a #Metoo story. Persephone was kidnapped into a forced marriage. Eve and Pandora were damned for seeking education. *The Goddess Project: Innocents*, features Judy Takács’ colorful, classical-inspired figurative paintings of these heroines through her contemporary feminist lens. Takács’ book, *The Goddess Project*, will launch at the opening with signed copies available for purchase. Painting the Town: Art Competition for Utility Box Designs Building on the success of several years of traffic utility box projects, the Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) is pleased to announce this year’s project: *Painting the Town*. SHAC is sponsoring a juried *art competition* for the design of *utility boxes* located in Shaker Heights. Local artists are invited to participate. All designs must be submitted electronically on the template provided. Designs and applications must be submitted to SHAC via email (i *nfo(a)shakerartscouncil.org* <info(a)shakerartscouncil.org>*)* no later than *Friday **4 March 2022.* Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 21 years old and live or work in Shaker Heights. Applicants who reside in the Shaker Heights School District or are a member of the Shaker Arts Council are also eligible. Applicants may submit more than one (1) design, but each must be submitted in a separate email. There are no entry fees. Artists retain all copyrights to their artwork. All entries must be anonymous. *Do not sign your submittal nor indicate your name on the submitted design document.* André Taylor, Art Educator, will serve as this year’s jury chair. Since all of the boxes have slightly different dimensions, artists whose work is selected may have to reformat their designs to fit the matched boxes. Design Criteria: - Black or very dark backgrounds are not permitted. - Words are not permitted in the designs, per the City of Shaker Heights code. - Art created in non-digital media must be digitized for submittal. - Final designs must be submitted as camera-ready, 600 dpi files. By submitting a design proposal, all artists agree to: - allow SHAC to use images of the designs on printed materials and websites for promotional purposes only; - allow SHAC to photograph the work; - allow SHAC to submit the proposal to the city’s Shaker Heights Arts Task Force for their final approval and to obtain the artist’s modification of the design, if necessary, to meet the city’s requirements. Lorain County Metro Parks’ French Creek Theatre is looking for two well-rounded and talented college students or recent graduates serve as the choreographer and music director for both our performing arts camp *and* our summer youth theater production. Both camp and youth rehearsals run during the day, during the work week. Experience/Qualifications Candidate must have experience in: - Teaching music/choreography in a rehearsal or classroom setting. - Working with children grades 5-12. - Choreographing/Teaching music numbers for large groups- up to 40 cast members at a time. - Creating classroom content for ages 10-13. - Conflict resolution between students/campers. - Candidate must be highly adaptable in a classroom and rehearsal setting - Must be able to function and lead a large group of kids a time. - Be comfortable starting conversations and meeting new campers and cast members - Must be personable and encourage students to maintain a safe, and positive environment. Duties include: - Teaching dance/music concentrated classes for our one week theatre camp, (June 27th- July 1) - Creating content for said classes as well as content for group activities such as theatre games, challenges, and exercises. - Serving as the head choreographer/music director for our youth musical with rehearsals starting July 5th and opening August 5th. - Creating and implementing a set dance/music rehearsal schedule in collaboration with the director - Creating additional resources for cast to practice choreography/music at home i.e. tutorial videos. - Must attend all camp days and rehearsals. French Creek strives to promote a fun, safe, and positive atmosphere while encouraging campers and cast members to approach the arts with confidence. Both Camp and Rehearsals for the youth show will take place at French Creek Nature Center in Sheffield Village. Chosen candidate will receive a stipend at the end of our rehearsal period.

TMP SUMMER INTENSIVE 2022PRE-PROFESSIONAL (12 - 18 YRS) JULY 25TH - JULY 30TH, 2022 This one week intensive is geared for serious-minded dancers interested in furthering themselves as creative artists and who wish to deepen and grow their technical and performance knowledge. This intensive provides a rigorous daily schedule in professional training, creative practice and rehearsals taught by TMP artistic directors, company members, as well as notable guest artists in the dance community. The program will focus on modern dance technique, contemporary, ballet, improvisation, composition, injury prevention and somatic practices. In addition to movement courses, the program includes courses designed to prepare young artists for a career in dance, such as, resume building, dance on film and marketing. As part of our marketing course, each artist will receive dance action shots for their portfolio.
