North Eaton Christian Church is seeking a pianist to help us sustain and grow our worship life. We are accustomed to excellence in music ministry, and we'll continue to reach for excellence as we receive candidates for the role of Pianist. Skills needed: . Excellent pianist and accompanist . Capable of leading the congregation's hymn-singing from the keyboard . Confident sight-reader . Collaborative leader, working with church staff and volunteers . Clear communicator Responsibilities: 1. Perform music (hymns, incidental music, accompaniment of soloists and ensembles) during Sunday worship services on the piano and/or another keyboard. Singing is not required, but a strong sense of musical leadership is critical. 2. On occasion, rehearse for special services or solo/ensemble accompaniment, including weekday evenings or Sunday mornings prior to or following worship service. 3. Provide music at church weddings and funeral/memorial services when available. The Pianist has the right of first refusal on all weddings and funeral/memorial services held at the church (and shall receive any honorarium provided). 4. Be available for special services during the course of the year, such as Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Blue Christmas, Christmas Eve, Community Services. Some of these are evening events. 5. Coordinate with the Pastor regularly in planning, preparing, and playing appropriately for the liturgical season or day. 6. Advise the office on the condition of instruments, as needed. Schedule: Weekly worship services are presently at 9 a.m. Rehearsal times will need to be appropriately scheduled and reported weekly. Compensation: The position will be a maximum of 8 hours/week. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Latin ballroom styles and have a passion for teaching and inspiring students of all skill levels. Responsibilities: - Teach ballroom dance classes to students of all ages and skill levels - Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of individual students - Create a positive and supportive learning environment for all students - Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their skills - Participate in studio events and performances as required Requirements: - Proven experience as a ballroom dance instructor - Proficiency in Latin ballroom styles such as salsa, rumba, cha-cha, and samba - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to motivate and inspire students of all skill levels - A passion for dance and a commitment to ongoing professional development Compensation: This is a part-time position with a competitive hourly rate of $30-$35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. The Fine Arts Association announces auditions for: The Addams Family Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it's every father's nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family- a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn't upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he's never done before- keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's "normal" boyfriend and his parents. Smart, comedic actor, tenor/baritone, strong dancer, looking to be shorter than Morticia. Morticia Addams The strength of the Addams family who believes strongly in family tradition. Morticia is unnerved thinking that Gomez is hiding something from her. She is confident with a side of dry wit. Feels her husband is hiding something from her and will use any tactic to lure the secret out. Age 35 - 55. Comedic AND dramatic actor, Alto/mezzo, strong dancer, graceful. Wednesday Addams Big sister Wednesday who has her father's heart and her mother's sensibility and dry wit falls in love with a "normal" boy who she brings home to meet the family. Wednesday is trying to balance her relationships with her "strange" family with that of her new love and his "normal" family. Wednesday showcases compassion, a bit of stubbornness and strong will. Age 16 - 20. Strong actor, Pop Soprano/Mezzo, strong belt. Pugsley Addams The youngest of the Addams Family, Pugsley loves to be tortured by his big sister. He is lost trying to figure out his place now that she has a new boyfriend and family dynamics are changing. He wants to ensure he won't lose his sister to her new boyfriend so he takes matters in to his own hands. Age 9 - 12. Sweet, strong actor, Alto with strong, high vocals. Uncle Fester Serving as the narrator of the show, Uncle Fester is larger than life, lovable, childish, enthusiastic and highly incorrigible. Age 30 - 50, Vaudeville-style Comedian, tenor/baritone, cand dance/move well. Grandma fun, quirky and feisty, Grandma always has a trick up her sleeve. Grandma is wise, wacky and sometimes a bit crass. Don't mess with Grandma! Can play 80 - 105. Comedic Actor, Alto/Mezzo/Character vocals. Lurch A man of few words, Lurch is the Addams Family butler. His unmistakable commanding presence is accented by grunts, moans and deliberate movement. Age: Imperceptible. TALL. Rich, Bass sound. Mal Beinecke The uptight and stuffy father of Lucas and exasperated husband to rhyming Alice, cynical Mal meets the Addams with skepticism. He finds the Addams to be too bizarre for his liking and cannot fathom being related to them. Age 30 - 55. High baritone/tenor. Alice Beinecke Lucas's mother and Mal's wife, Alice is strongly devoted to her family. She presents herself as reserved and collected (even when speaking in rhyme) until she learns to unleash her wild side at dinner with the Addams. 30 - 55. Comedic actor, Soprano, belt. Lucas Beinecke The hopeful romantic and son of Alice & Mal, Lucas has fallen in love with Wednesday and intends to marry her. He is optimistic and hopeful yet struggles to find the balance between his "normal" family and the macabre Addams. 16 - 20. Attractive nerdy, tenor, moves well. The Ancestors the Addams ancestors from various eras serve as the chorus for the show and help bring the story to life. They will be featured both singing and dancing throughout the entire show (once released from the family crypt!). All vocal ranges, genders, ages, and types.
