*Red Barn Youth Theater Auditions * for 2 one-acts: *Snow White Lite* by Jacob Dorn Directed by Richie Lynch and *The Great American Talent Show* by Joseph Robinette Directed by Greg Dziama *Audition Dates: *Monday, April 18 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm and Wednesday April 20 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. *Show Dates: *July 22 - July 24, 2022 on Friday and Saturday at 7pm, Sunday at 2pm. *The Plays: * 8-12 year olds will present *Snow White Lite*, an easy, breezy adaptation of the classic fairy tale. The FIVE dwarves don't need help with cooking or cleaning, so they hand Snow White a plunger and put her to work. When the wicked Queen, disguised in Groucho glasses, tries to finish her off, a quick response from Prince Heimlich saves her, and the day! Cast size is 8-10 characters. Rehearsals for *Snow White Lite* will be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm starting on Monday, May 2, 2022. 13-17 year olds will present *The Great American Talent Show*. It is the final night of the yearlong TV talent show to end all talent shows! The finalists anxiously await their final shot at fame and fortune, while the three self-important judges cajole or praise the contestants in hilarious ways. Rehearsals for *The Great American Talent **Show* will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:30 pm starting on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. In this hilarious and outlandish story, the lives of six teenagers from a Canadian chamber choir are cut short in a freak accident aboard a roller coaster. With music, book and lyrics by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell, originally produced by Kevin McCullum and Morris Berchard with additional materials by Alan Schmuckler, this production will be directed by Victoria Bussert. Music direction by Matthew Webb and choreography by Lauren Tidmore make this an exciting regional premiere, in collaboration with Baldwin Wallace University Music Theatre Program. In this dark comedy, the Saint Cassian High School Chamber Choir boards the Cyclone roller coaster, dying minutes later when the front axle breaks, sending them to their tragic demise. When they awake in a strange purgatory, a mechanical fortune teller invites each to tell the story of a life interrupted-with the promise of a prize like no other-a chance for one of them to return to life. The Millennial Theatre Project and the Arts Inclusion Incubator will host an awesome acting intimacy workshop, "Acting with Heart: Empowering Consent and Connection on Stage" With Kerstin Vaughn. Kerstin Vaughn has her MFA in theatre performance and pedagogy. Her theatrical practice and research have centered on inclusivity, accessibility, and consent. She has taken numerous workshops with Theatrical Intimacy Education as well as Intimacy Directors and Coordinators and has worked on several productions as the intimacy choreographer. This workshop focuses on some super important skills like understanding consent for the stage, communicating physical and emotional boundaries, and considering different bodies and experiences in your performances. Plus, you'll learn how to manage those moments of heightened emotions and set intimate choreography. It's gonna be a blast!
