*Please help us spread the word to those theatres who are AACT members!* Inspired by Concord Theatricals’ recent Licensing Competition, TND Musicals is excited to announce its own The Case of the Counterfeit Napoleon, A Sherlock Holmes Musical Mystery, <https://www.licensingmusicals.com/case-of-the-counterfeit-napoleon>* L*icensing Competition. The competition is open to all AACT community theatres in Regions I, II, III and VI, especially those with a strong financial need. Napoleon was originally produced at A Premiere Playhouse in Columbus, Ohio, written and directed by Darryl Bojanowski. TND Musicals will award each of five theatres with a complimentary four-performance licensing package, including all rental materials. To enter, theatres must complete an online application, including an Essay that describes how producing this musical can bring together the wider community from which they get their performers, crew and volunteers. The theatres will be selected based on a variety of factors, including financial need and creativity of the Essay. The Contest is open exclusively to theatres that are members of AACT in the four regions listed. Applications are open from April 22 to May 22, 2024 (International Sherlock Holmes Day celebrating the birthday of Holmes’ creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle!). AUDITION NOTICE FOR AKRON CIVIC THEATRE’S MILLENNIAL THEATRE PROJECT Attention all actors and performers! The Millennial Theatre Project is excited to announce auditions for our upcoming production of "Kinky Boots"! Directed by Francine Parr, musically directed by Dave Stebbins, and choreographed by Ivy Johnson. Auditions will take place on May 18th from 11 am to 3 pm, and callbacks will be held on the following Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm. Please note that this is a non-union and unpaid opportunity. We are looking for talented performers aged 18 and up to fill a variety of roles. In addition, we are seeking two young actors between the ages of 8 and 14 to play the roles of Young Charlie and Young Lola. Rehearsals will begin on June 10th and will be held on Sundays from 1-4 pm and Monday-Thursday from 6:30-9:30 pm. Tech week is July 14th, and the show will run from July 19th to August 4th. WHAT TO PREPARE: 5-minute increments. Two-cuts are needed. 16-32 measures. Please prepare two contrasting pieces in the style of the show.
