*FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEJuly 28, 2025* *MTC to Hold Auditions for Stranger Sings: The Stranger Things Parody Musical This Weekend!* *Youngstown, Ohio*- The Millennial Theatre Company (MTC) is holding an open casting call for* Stranger Sings: A Parody Musical*. Auditions will be held at the Youngstown Playhouse (600 Playhouse Lane) on Friday, August 1st from 6pm-9pm and Saturday, August 2nd, from 12pm-3pm. To sign up for an audition slot, please visit millennialtheatre.org and click on Auditions. Auditioners should come prepared with a 30-60 second cut of a song in the style of the show. A headshot and resume are encouraged but not required. No accompanist will be provided, so please bring a track (Bluetooth speaker will be provided). Those auditioning will also be asked to perform cold read sides from the show. Rehearsals will run Monday-Thursday 6-9pm starting in mid September. *Stranger Sings! A Parody Musical* will play November 7-23 in the Moyer Room at the Youngstown Playhouse. Ages 16+. All roles are open. *Stranger Sings* tells the story of Season 1 of the hit TV show Stranger Things. Take a trip back to Hawkins, Indiana: 1983... when times were simpler, hair was bigger, and unsupervised children were getting snatched by interdimensional creatures. Stranger Sings! A Parody Musical is a hilarious ‘upside down’ take on the hit Netflix series - and all its campy 1980s glory! Cleveland Dance Project's choreographer applications are open until TOMORROW JULY 26 at 11:59pm for our Season 16 Showcase! Choreographers are given the opportunity to *create and showcase a short work (under 4 minutes) in any style of dance on our adult dancers* - casting is done at auditions on Sunday August 24 and can be cast with dancers from the beginner to the professional. Choreographers are paid a small stipend, given professional photos & videos, reimbursed for costume expenses (up to $15/dancer), and get free studio space for their rehearsals (and discounted studio space for other use). Plus their work will be seen by ~1500 audience members! We’ve been playing together for about two years in bars and special events, mostly on the west to far- west side, and occasionally in Cleveland. We do retro rock and blues, and since we’re all retired, we rehearse afternoons once a week on Tues or Thurs.
