Mighty Goliath Productions (MGP) is seeking a volunteer Music Director for our upcoming community theatre production! MGP is a proud, all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the performing arts in Avon Lake City Schools. For over 60 years, we’ve brought high-quality, multi-generational musical theatre to life—powered entirely by passion! Wednesday, July 23rd at 5pm is the deadline to Submit for consideration as an actor in The Imposters Mainstage Sketch Show! Actor auditions will take place Saturday, July 26th between 3:30-5:30pm. *There are limited audition spots*. If you are invited to audition, you will receive a confirmation email by Thursday July 24th with your audition time. You should prepare a 1-2 minute character monologue. It can be an original piece or previously published/performed. You will also do a cold reading of a sketch. If we do not have an audition spot for you, or you are not available for the in person auditions, you may submit a video. Please email info at imposterstheater.com for more details. Showcase Chaos <https://bzdug.com/showcase>, an open stage hosted by Beezy Douglas returns to the Wizbang Theatre <https://www.wizbangtheater.com/> this Thursday, July 24, for a night that could feature #music, #poetry, #comedy, #dance, #magic, #puppetry, #juggling, #acting, or quite possibly something that doesn’t even have a hashtag yet! How do I sign up & how much time do I get? Drop your name in the hat by 7:50pm. Performers will be called up at random to sign up for any available slot on the list. Sets are limited to 3 songs / 12 minutes max. What’s the vibe? This is a listening space where spectators and performers are expected to support each other. Artists come for the stage time, but stay for the community and camaraderie. Masrah Cleveland Al-Arabi FREE THEATRE WORKSHOPS Experience acting and theatre creation! For people who identify as coming from Arabic-speaking communities WORKSHOP DATES: Thursday, July 24 from 6:30-9:30pm Friday, July 25 from 6:30-9:30pm Saturday, July 26 from 2:00-5:00pm WHO: This program is for adults (18+) who are interested in theatre performance and curious about being a part of an Arabic-speaking theatre company. Arabic or English fluency is not needed for workshops, but workshops will be offered in English with some translation assistance from the group. WHERE: Cleveland Public Theatre, 6415 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, OH 44102. WHAT: The workshops will run for about three hours and will consist of ensemble work, text work, theatre games, and ensemble scene creation. The purpose of Masrah Cleveland Al-Arabi is to share the rich diversity and perspectives of Cleveland's Arabic-speaking cultures and to fulfill CPT's core mission: to raise consciousness and nurture compassion through groundbreaking performance and life-changing education programs. Dear Community Members, Kent State University is home to three vibrant concert bands—the Wind Ensemble, Symphony Band, and University Band—all of which welcome community participation. High school students are also eligible to join through the College Credit Plus (CCP) Program. Wind Ensemble- The Wind Ensemble is Kent State’s premier auditioned wind band, composed of the university’s top wind and percussion musicians. The ensemble includes both undergraduate and graduate music majors, as well as talented non-majors.
