Sketch Battle, the sketch comedy competition at Imposters Theater, is back! It's time to get a team together for Sketch Battle: The Summer Tournament! Your team can consist of any configuration of writers, actors, and writer/actors. If selected for one of the three rounds, you will receive three prompts two months before the show date. Each of the three sketch groups will write and rehearse a sketch for each of the prompts. That's 3 sketches! Pay is $30/group. Each month, the audience will vote on who gets the opportunity to return for the Tournament of Champions. The winner of the Tournament of Champions receives $200 and a 30-minute sketch show at Imposters Theater, including feedback and direction from one of our sketch instructors. Join us for our next Seat of the Pants Free Artist Workshop. Every year, our theatre company offers four workshops for adult theatre makers who are interested in learning new techniques and processes. Our upcoming workshop is: *IN-DEPTH SCRIPT ANALYSIS & HARNESSING THE RHYTHMIC WAVE* Discover how text becomes the foundation for dynamic physical and psychological exploration in this interdisciplinary workshop. In this workshop, we share the tools that guide our directing, design collaborations, ensemble building, and individual character work—*welcoming actors, directors, producers, playwrights, educators, theatre enthusiasts, and designers alike.* There's no better way to get prepped for audition season or upcoming projects than to polish up the fundamentals and learn some new tools! For those who prefer to patronize and attend theatre, this workshop will be loaded with interesting context to give you a fresh lens with which to enjoy productions. Taught by *Craig Joseph*, Artistic Director of SotP and director of *The Children* and *Elephant's Graveyard*, and *Chris Bohan*, professor at CWRU, teacher at GLMCC, and director of *The Book Club Play.* There are two sessions to this workshop - one in Cleveland, and one in Stark County - per the generous support of a grant sponsored by ArtsinStark. With music and lyrics by the incomparable Stephen Sondheim, A Little Night Music is a sophisticated, romantic, and razor-sharp exploration of love, longing, and second chances. The story centers on glamorous actress Desirée Armfeldt, whose reunion with former lover Fredrik Egerman, sets off a deliciously tangled chain of affairs, jealousies, and revelations among spouses, lovers, and rivals. When the entire group convenes for a weekend in the country, emotions run high, secrets emerge, and sparks fly - opening the door to new romances and rekindled love. The Parma Schools Foundation is producing The Music Man this coming summer.I am in need of a pianist to play dance rehearsals and to play in the orchestra for the performances on July 31, Aug 1 and 2. The show will take place at Valley Forge High School in Parma Hts, Ohio 44130. This is a paid position. Rehearsals will be held in the mornings Monday thru Friday from 9-12.
