Opening November 13 and running until November 29, 2020, patrons are invited to enjoy this virtual production in the comfort of their homes for $20 for an individual viewer, $30 for two or more viewers, or $40 for two or more viewers who would like to provide additional support. Fully Committed, by Becky Mode, is a hilarious one-person comedy. Ideally suited for a virtual production, this theater piece solves the issue of how to keep a performer, director, crew, and the audience safe during a pandemic, all the while delivering great laughs. Beck Center understands the desire for comedic entertainment and is proud to deliver this witty and funny experience. For the safety of everyone, this production will be filmed and distributed online. Scott Spence, now in his 30th season as artistic director of Beck Center for the Arts, directs. Amid the barrage of calls, Sam copes with his recently widowed father who's pressing him to come home for Christmas, as well as being up for a choice role in a play at Lincoln Center. Sam juggles scheming socialites, name-droppers, fickle celebrities, and egomaniacal bosses. Can he manage his own life right now? In all, this single performer brings to life over 40 characters. Rubber City Theatre now in its 8th year and is seeking a Director of Artistic Coordination. This is a part-time, non-exempt, position. Job posting closes on 11/18/2020. Position will begin the week of 1/4/2021; but might begin as early as 12/1/2020. Duties: - Office: - Assemble and distribute contracts for guest artists for mainstage and education classes. - Collect all contracts and input in various systems. - Fundraising Board Committee liaison for Staff. - Handle travel and housing arrangements for out of town artists. - Assigned box office shifts during show runs. - Will assist with Social Media work for the company. - Education/Artistic: - Coordinate Casting calls and audition appointments. - Assist on casting days as the monitor and preparing materials for auditioners and auditionees. - Coordinate and oversee the Youth Conservatory program (Saturday morning classes and summer camps). - Other duties may be assigned pending the applicant's experience. Qualifications: Experience working in an office environment. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Use of Google Drive platform, Microsoft Office, and Adobe PDF. Theatre or Arts teaching. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a Non-Profit or Theatre organization. Familiarity with Quickbooks and social media outlets. Bachelors or higher degree. Hours: Nights and Weekends availability. Flexible scheduling of hours with the approval of the Executive Artistic Director. Average weekly hours at 16 hours per week to start. “Steering into the Skid” Coming Virtually to Cleveland On November 24 at 7 p.m., Theatre in the Circle presents “Steering into the Skid,” a free online theatrical event that helps family members, caregivers, local businesses, and the broader community be in a conversation around the subject of dementia as well as the most well-known form of memory loss which is Alzheimer’s Disease. “Steering into the Skid” was written by the husband-wife team of Arnold Johnston and Deborah Ann Percy. “Growing older has led us to think about the effects of aging on ourselves and our relationship,” said the playwrights. “We’ve known friends-couples-who have faced Alzheimer’s or other devastating conditions with such dignity, courage and love that we felt compelled to write about a couple forced to adjust to new demands on their imperfect but loving marriage.” Audience members meet Tim and Amanda played by professional actors, Jim Pounds and Danette McCarthy. In 12 short, clever scenes, one per month-starting on New Year’s Eve, the audience comes to know this loving couple and bear witness to the early progression of dementia. About the Director As a new director I am a driven hardworking film student looking to gain as much experience as I can before graduating and build those strong relationships with the arts community.
