CASTING NOTICE for SHORT FILM Masked Tells Written by Chris Maertens Seeking several actors for a student final short film. Logline: Trucy suffers a harsh setback with a series of bad luck. But when masks are forced to come on, she must find a new way to read her opponents. This is a final student project for an advanced class. This is an unpaid position. Meals Will be provided. Credit and a copy of the film will be provided. Shooting will be done in Cleveland Ohio. Personal Bio: I’m Chris Maertens, a Student at Tri-C’s FILM program. I work as a freelance editor for different content creators online. I like to turn creative visions into reality. Working on short-films is always a great chance to inspire people and to tell a story. I can’t wait to work with you! SHAC is presenting classes and webinars September 22 - November 4, 2020 as part of Stay-in-Place Productions, the arts council’s response to COVID -19. *Classes * National and International Dialects for the Stage Program Description:Ever wonder how to Sound like Harry Potter or Tony Soprano? Join Cody Swanson as he teaches you the ins and outs of dialects from all over the United States or from different parts of the world. These dialects can be used on-stage or for film work. In this workshop, you will create a work of 3-dimensional work of art in the form of a shoe. Gather materials you can collage that show your interests. These items can be photos of friends or family, magazine images or drawings; they can include ribbon or fabric or hardware or glitter; things that you can find around your house and that work together to tell a story. Have a pair of scissors and some newsprint or paper you can stuff in a shoe. The only purchase you may need to make is for 2 rolls of 2” clear wrapping tape. Get Your Halloween Thrills As Radio on the Lake Theatre Performs The Birds

Radio on the Lake Theatre, the only theater company in Northeast Ohio exclusively dedicated to the illumination of the radio play, is pleased to announce its next live performance. The Birds will be performed on Friday, October 30 at 6 pm at the company's home base in Shaker Heights. Adapted from the terrifying short story by Daphne DuMaurier, that served as the source material for the iconic Alfred Hitchcock film, The Birds takes place in a small seaside village in England in the late 1940s. The Waite family is plunged headlong into a fight for their lives when the local bird population declares war on humanity. The Birds will be performed in Radio on the Lake's outdoor space. Seating is limited, and social distancing and mask-wearing will be strictly enforced. In the event of inclement weather on October 30, the performance will be moved to Saturday, October 31 at 3 pm. Enjoy the Homerville All String Band as they perform bluegrass, country and folk favorites on the back deck. Bring your lawn chairs. Stroll around the pond and grounds and see what’s instore for ORMACO as it enters its second decade. This is a free socially distanced event, but donations are welcomed. Mentor based pop/rock band is looking for 2 appealing, theatrically oriented females to front a mostly-original band. Something along the lines of a modern ABBA or Fleetwood Mac. Practices are twice a week from 6pm to 9pm (to be determined based on people's schedules). 20 songs have already been written and arranged, so vocalists are the next step.
