Not only shows that happened but also those that should've happened. We're very excited to be turning off our ghost light and to show you our new style of theatre through this difficult time. We hope you enjoy a new form of content that you'll see a lot more in 2021. >From the ashes of 2020 rises a brand-new production, WRP’s Greatest Hits and Songs That Should Have Been! This double-feature CaBARet Night will bring back all your favorite performers singing the songs you remember from WRP’s hit musicals of the past three years, as well as a few new numbers from our 2020 Season that never happened. Enjoy the atmosphere of our WRP CaBARet Series from the comfort of your own home, and reminisce with us as we sing our hearts out for you! Filmed in a documentary style, this production will also be our first one on the WRP stage since February, thanks to approval from the Summit County Board of Health! This production will air in two halves. The first part will be released on Friday, October 23rd at 7:30pm, and the second part on Saturday, October 24th at 7:30pm. Hi, My name is Gabe Gerry and I’m a filmmaker located in Cleveland. Coming up is the production of a short film that will be my directorial debut. There is a talented crew behind the camera and now we need talent to fill the screen. The film is a ten-minute drama: a model, Caroline, is having an affair with her photographer, Gene. When Gene buys her a diamond necklace, he unknowingly informs Caroline's husband of the affair. We’ll be filming a great script with characters that will be exciting challenges for the right actors. We have the unique luxury of delaying our production until we find those actors, and I’m determined to find them. Their tales, though seemingly disparate, are woven together as the show progresses. This one-act play is told through a series of vignettes. ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT Rachel Zake is a writer, actor, and director. A native of Cleveland, Ohio and a graduate of Boston University, Rachel used her degree in advertising and psychology for a few years before moving to Madrid and traveling the world. She landed in LA in 2010 to pursue her first love, acting, before stumbling into published writing. Rachel has published three books: Two People are Coming out of a Building (2014, fiction), The Nomad Diaries (2017, nonfiction), and Pants Off/Dance Off: A Gentleman’s Guide (2019, nonfiction). Rachel is a member of Dobama Theatre’s Playwrights GYM and her plays have been seen onstage at Playwrights Local and other local venues. Rachel has been acting for over 27 years on stage and is a member of SAG-AFTRA, having appeared in many TV shows, films, and commercials. She also served as Director of Playmakers Youth Theatre in Beachwood, OH for approximately four years. Rachel proudly serves on the Hathaway Brown Alumnae Committee. *Broadview Heights Spotlights Theater presents* *"THE SECRET LIFE OF GIRLS"* *Streaming October 3-11, 2020* Written by Linda Daugherty, this show is based upon interviews with girls on the giving and receiving end of bullying. The play highlights the impact of cyberbullying, the facilitation of mean-spirited behaviors through the use of cell phones, text and instant messaging, e-mail and chat rooms. The portrayal of the sobering reality of these girls' lives can start at-home conversations, providing the opportunity to reveal the secrets and address the complexities which dominate the lives of many young women. Created entirely remotely, from auditions through rehearsals, the production was recorded and digitally edited by Tim Anderson. During her time there, she had the chance to study many styles of dance. Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip hop, and contemporary to name a few. She received many awards at competitions and conventions, and was given the opportunity to travel and learn from many teachers. After high school she received an internship with the Cleveland Verb Ballet. During her time with The Verb, she was able to work with many instructors and choreographers including Richard DIckinson, Kay Eichman, and Christopher Flemming to name a few. After her internship she went back to her home studio to teach and continue to train. She choreographed for many competition classes and received awards for some of that choreography. After about three years Megan took a break from dance almost entirely. About one year later, she was offered a scholarship to a summer intensive in Cleveland, where she fell in love with the art again. From there she dove into taking class as much as possible, and performing as a freelance dancer when she could. She has worked with a small pick up company and performed in Cleveland and Columbus with them. Recently, Megan has been working with the Cleveland Dance Project, choreographed in season 5, and was a company member for their CDP Company in 2019 and this current 2020 season. Megan also teaches ballet and contemporary at local studios, as well as master classes!
