*Call for Art Instructors: **Seeking Artists for Zoom Art Classes* The Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) invites local artist, artisans and art aficionados to submit proposals to teach online art classes that will be offered during the month of July. These courses will be presented via SHAC’s Zoom account as a part of *Stay-in-Place Productions*. These community classes can cover any artistic genre, for example: dance, cake decorating jewelry making, painting, writing, drawing, improvisation, music theory, scrapbooking, or even juggling. Classes can be 1-day workshops or 2, 3 or 5 days, depending on the course content. Applications will be reviewed by the SHAC selection committee upon receipt. The final deadline is June 25, 2020. Applicants will be notified after review by the SHAC selection committee. Preference will be given to residents of Shaker Heights and the Shaker Heights School District and to Shaker Arts Council members. Instructors will receive 60% of the tuition collected for the course. Beck Center for the Arts launches online summer camps and classes. Beginning June 8 all ages and all abilities are invited to explore their creativity! Ed Gallagher, Director of Education at Beck Center for the Arts for over 25 years, as well as a trained music therapist says, "Challenging times call for creative solutions and Beck Center faculty members have put together an exciting line-up of over 80 classes, 21 camps, and a myriad of private lessons for the community this summer. Being home can be creative, it can be fun, and it can be a time of exploration. Our online camps, classes, lessons, and creative arts opportunities provide the community with amazing ways to make this the best summer possible. Our programming is for ages six months to 100 years of age. Many of us will spend a lot of time at home this summer. Spend some of that time being creative with Beck Center as you explore new opportunities or expand upon your growing skills - with #Beck@Home, right there for you." Each class is around 30-45 minutes each week and has several ways to engage, so the student can work on the course material when it works best for them. Use this time of social distancing and self-quarantine to work on your monologue chops! Prof Jaffe of Lake Erie College is offering remote, video one-on-one sessions (Skype, facetime, Zoom, etc). We can work on: monologues and auditioning scene analysis creative writing/comedy writing stand up comedy skills editing/notes for new playscripts or sketches or, whatever topics interest you, just let me know. Any style monologue, contemporary or classic, comedy or drama. Jerry has directed or acted in over 100 plays in the USA, Japan and New Zealand, and has taught acting in 3 countries for over 25 years. My approach is very personal and very detailed. I do a combination of script work focusing on given circumstances and objectives & physical work based on the Viewpoints.
