This is a challenging script that in less talented hands could have been a very long and frustrating experience. As is, it well developed the author’s intent and purpose. Some will probably still find it obtuse, while others, like myself, will find it a very satisfying experience. Webb, a local writer and multi-media artist, is on his way to breakout status with this solo tour de force piece that was workshopped as a shorter piece as part of CPT’s inaugural SoftLaunch<https://www.cptonline.org/performances/seasons/2024-2025/soft-launch-2025/> festival earlier this year. The abbreviated version of the piece was a fan-favorite that received a standing ovation every time it was performed at the event and CPT’s annual benefit Pandemonium a few weeks ago. The play utilizes film and projections to tell the story of a Black man who thinks he is the only one on the planet born without Black excellence; and for approximately 90 minutes attempts to proof himself wrong. Reserve your spot for SEAT of the PANTS' FREE ARTIST WORKSHOP! *Qualities of Movement Devised* Come join us for our *Qualities of Movement Devised *workshop. This is a workshop built to embrace playfulness, get out of your head, get into your imagination, and have a good time - which is of course, always better with a group of likeminded artists. Co-founding teacher of the Great Lakes Michael Chekhov Consortium, *Cathy Albers*, will be leading an entirely new exercise of her own devising introducing new ways to approach principles and tenets of the Michael Chekhov technique. (Both newbies and veterans are welcome!) SotP ensemble member, Michael Glavan, will then lead participants in playing around with the established principles through a range of devised theatre practices. *IT'S A TWO-FOR-ONE KIND OF WORKSHOP!* While certain acting-based principles will guide some of the exercises, this workshop is great for directors, playwrights, educators, actors, and anyone else interested in getting more hands-on theatre in their life. There are *TWO* sessions to this workshop - one in Cleveland, and one in Stark County - per the generous support of a grant sponsored by ArtsinStark. Embrace the spirit of community and join us for this intimate storytelling event. Full Circle Storytelling revolves around the belief that everyone has a story, and those stories are worth telling. Attendees can sign up to tell a true story inspired (or not!) by the evening's prompt or participate by simply listening. All are welcome, no experience necessary. Since this FREE event takes place at a library and is open to people of all ages, language and content of stories should be no stronger than PG-13.
