Clague Playhouse presents Agatha Christie's *T**he Mousetrap *on now through October 5. Performances are on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30PM and on Sundays at 2PM. Agatha Christie’s iconic murder mystery is the world’s most successful and longest-running play. After a local woman is murdered, the guests and staff at Monkswell Manor find themselves stranded during a snowstorm. It soon becomes clear that the killer is among them and the seven strangers grow increasingly suspicious of one another. A police detective, arriving on skis, interrogates the suspects: the newlyweds running the house; a spinster with a curious background; an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef; a retired Army major; a strange little man who claims his car has overturned in a drift; and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. When a second murder takes place, tensions and fears escalate, culminating in a brilliant surprise finish. Directed by Ron Newell, our cast features: Jon Fancher as Major Metcalf, Margaret Hnat as Miss Casewell, Barb Howitt as Mrs. Boyle, Assad Khaishgi as Mr. Paravicini, Corey Knick as Christopher Wren, Rowan Myatt-Jones as Sergeant Trotter, James Robert Newton as Giles Ralston, and Erin Williams as Mollie Ralston. They lie, they steal, they bully other kids, and they smoke smelly cigars. There used to be only one place where you’d never see them—church. This all changes when Charlie Bradley brags that his Sunday school offers free snacks. All six of the Herdmans show up at church in search of pizza, cookies and Hawaiian Punch, and end up in the Christmas pageant. Charlie’s mom, Grace, is the novice director, who not only casts them in the show but, much to the dismay of the other kids, let’s them play all the leads. Grace instantly finds herself caught between two forces of nature—the Herdmans and Helen Armstrong, who speaks for all of the outraged citizens of the town. Grace has two choices: get rid of the Herdmans, or let them stay and risk being blamed for the worst pageant in the history of the world." Robert has taught music internationally in Mexico, Kuwait, and South Korea. He currently teaches upper elementary music in Jeju, South Korea. Robert is the grandson of Lucille Coreno, a retired violinist and charter member of the Parma Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra, in its 56th season, consists of 100 members of all walks of life from all over the entire Greater Cleveland area.
