“STELLALUNA AND OTHERTALES” (THEATER FOR YOUNGAUDIENCES) As part of its TYA Series (Theater for Young Audiences) theBroadview Heights Spotlights Theater will be presenting the musical “Stellalunaand Other Tales" on Saturdays and Sundays, October 5-13, 2019. Saturdayshows are at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.; Sunday shows are at 2 p.m. Stellaluna the bat, Verdi the snake, and Pindulithe hyena all seek refreshment at a watering hole one hot day, only to findthemselves the subjects of a bullying lion's ridicule. But by sharing storiesabout building self-confidence, these three misfit animals find wisdom, peace,and friendship. Based on the popular books by Janell Cannon, this delightfulmusical is a treat for both children and adults. But what happens next defies the boundaries of the world we think we know—delving into the infinite possibilities of their relationship and raising questions about the difference between choice and destiny. The play follows Roland, a beekeeper, and Marianne, a theoretical astronomer, through their romantic relationship. Marianne waxes poetic about cosmology, quantum mechanics, string theory and the concept of multiple universes pulling people’s lives in various directions, as the play itself takes the pair’s story through the stars to alternative realities. Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) is seeking professional musicians for the 2021 Wadsworth Public Library Sunday afternoon concert/workshops. We seek all genres of music. Dates are January 10, Feb 14, March 14, Apr 11, May 2, June 13, Jul 11, Aug 8, Sept 12, Oct 10, Nov 14, Dec. 12. There is a large parking lot behind the building. Enter through the front doors. BAND - Red Light Roxy Red Light Roxy is a professional band from Cleveland, Ohio that plays an upbeat mix of jazz standards, jump blues, swing, boogie-woogie and a dash of old-school R&B. Its repertoire comes from the Great American Songbook and includes familiar songs made famous by such legendary performers as Ella Fitzgerald, Ruth Brown, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles and Louis Armstrong.
