Summer auditions and soon to be Fall auditions are here and are you prepared? Dr. Christopher Hutton, baritone, is taking new voice students and excited to get you physically and mentally prepared for auditions and performances. Dr. Hutton has a Masters Degree and Doctorate of Music Arts degrees in Vocal Pedagogy (Science of Singing) from Arizona State University, and is fluent in teaching both belting/music theatre technique and classical technique. Christopher attended Youngstown State University where he received his Bachelors in Voice Performance. He has also performed opera at regional opera houses for over thirteen years. Lessons will prepare each student for school Regional and All-State auditions, theatre auditions and college auditions in voice performance and musical theater. Lesson options are as follows: One-Hour, Forty-Five minute, Thirty minute Lesson. Students range from all ages and those who have an interest in classical and musical theatre. Students consist of all ages and center around high school or younger who show an interest in performing at local theaters and their school choral and musical productions. Film Networking Party & 48HFP: Xtinguish Screenings FREE event May 31 at moCa Cleveland!

Watch all of the films created as a part of the 48HFP: Xtinguish Celebration for FREE at moCa Cleveland! The Museum of Contemporary Art (moCa) has partnered up with the West Creek Conservancy's Xtinguish Celebration and the 48 Hour Film Project to bring you this special screening of 48HFP: Xtinguish films projected in the Cleveland Foundation Lobby of the award-winning moCa building. This fun & stylish premiere event will be FREE to attend, but with limited seating (registration required; ticket info below). moCa's cash bar will be open for the evening. This will be the coolest film premiere that you'll attend all year, so don't miss out! There are TWO different screening times for the evening, at 7:00pm and 9:30pm. ALL of the films will be shown at BOTH screenings. In between, we will celebrate and do some film networking to get everyone connected with teams for our summer 48 Hour Film Project. Hi all, Rock The House is hiring a part-time carpenter. If you're interested, we would love to have you! The Theatrical Carpenter / Scenic Designer is responsible for construction and maintenance of custom/specialty work on a project basis. The work is including but not limited to custom scenic pieces, interactive set pieces/activations, and props to be used in theatrical, social, corporate, and/or non-profit events. Responsibilities may include creating a budget of construction and fabrication for custom pieces; meeting with a project manager to assist in design work; creating timelines to meet deadlines for completion. This position may also involve the setup and striking of the custom pieces, the pick-up of building materials, and working with the Warehouse Manager to plan and allocate storage of custom pieces and materials when applicable. The live/special events industry is ever changing. Your ability to adjust priorities, make design tweaks, and adapt to what each event needs is important. Candidates should have: - 3+ years of scenic carpentry experience. - Ability and understanding of paint - Basic electrical skills - The ability to work from and interpret scale drawings of plans. CAD experience is preferred. - Working knowledge of hand and power tools is required. - Ability to lead crews (when applicable) to assist with construction, installation and/or strike of custom pieces. - Basic knowledge of the live event environment including Audio, Video, Lighting, and other aspects of the Event, Theater, or Trade-Show Industries is preferred. College Prep Theater Intensive for Academic Credit

Open to young men and women entering 9th-12th grades (regardless of school), the Saint Ignatius Summer Theater Intensive offers training geared towards *students who are considering a career in the performing arts.* The Summer Theater Intensive (running *July 8-12 and 15-19*, from 10:30 am-5:00 pm) is divided into 2 parts: *30 hours of technical design work and 30 hours of advanced acting training.* These vital skills are often the most underdeveloped when students apply to college theater programs. The intensive is designed to *give students the tools needed to stand out in their application process. *The cost of the course is $300. *After completion of this this two-week, sixty-hour college prep course, students attending any local high school will receive a 0.5 Fine Arts credit (one semester's worth) recognized by the Ohio Department of Education.
