AUDITIONS at Workshop Players *Forever Plaid* by Stuart Ross Directed by Mike Larochelle, Choreographed by Brenda Larochelle, Music Direction and accompaniment by David Bird Synopsis: "1960's male harmony quartet Forever Plaid returns from the hereafter to perform the show they never got to before they met their untimely demise. Featuring such great 50's & 60's hits like "Three Coins in the Fountain", "Cry", "Sixteen Tons" and "Love Is A Many Splendored Thing", "Forever Plaid" is sure-ﬁre family fun for music and theater lovers of all ages." Audition Dates: Saturday and Sunday, October 20 and 21 1:00 at Workshop Players Theater 44820 Middle Ridge Road, Amherst, OH Performance Dates: January 17, 18, 19 20, 25, 26, 27 (additional Club dates possible) Rehearsals dates and times to be determined based on actor availability but may begin as early as late October / early November to best work around the holiday. * Auditionees are asked to bring two songs of contrasting style that show off their vocal range. Musical theatre selections and/or 50-60s selections in the style of the show are all appropriate and welcome. You MAY sing songs from “Forever Plaid” if you prefer, though it is not required. A score from the show will be available for accompaniment. * Please bring sheet music in the correct key or your own prerecorded accompaniment. All auditionees will also be taught a short dance audition, so dress for movement. * Auditionees may be asked to cold read from the script. You may be asked to stay to read additional scenes. He lives his life terriﬁed and doesn't always remember what song comes next. Sparky's step-brother, he occasionally gets a nosebleed when he sings above an A. Age: 18-30. Vocal range top: D6 / bottom: F3 Sparky The clown of the group. Very sharp and loves singing his tailor-made solos. Wears a retainer and has a slight speech impediment. Energetic and clever. Age: 18-30. Vocal range top: G5 /bottom: F3 Smudge The worrier. He worries about the props, the running order, and always assumes the audience won't like him. Has chronic nervous stomach and is oddly reluctant to perform. Wears glasses, which hides his good looks and sex appeal. Age: 18-30. Performanceswill take place Nov. 1-3 at the historic downtown theater. Students frommultiple Tri-C campuses will perform and work behind the scenes to present theplay on one of the nation’s grandest stages. A View From the Bridge begins at 7:30 p.m. each evening. Miller’s classic tragedy premiered in 1955. It has since enjoyedconsistent revivals on Broadway in addition to adaptations for film, televisionand even opera. Seeking Actors for Student Produced Films and Videos! AUDITIONING FOR: a LEAD ROLE in student-produced films and videos, made by Cuyahoga Community College's beginner level film students (an "Intro to Filmmaking" class, taught by Prof. Bruno Tatalovic). Several students who completed this course in previous years – are now proud graduates of Tri-C, and newly established Cleveland film artists, videographers, and crew members on big union films shot in Ohio! :) WHEN: Friday, October 26, anytime between 9:15am and 12:30pm WHERE: Tri-C Campus in Parma, 11000 W Pleasant Valley Rd, (park in "visitor"; walk to central campus area); If lost, ask police officers in hallways to show you G107 room. WHO SHOULD COME: This type of collaboration is perfect for beginner (or intermediate) level actors who need more footage for their first demo-reel. By having a Demo Reel, you will be able to seek industry representation (agent). ABOUT PROJECTS: each of these projects feature 1-2 actors only, and gives you a lot of screen time and dialogue or monologue lines. These are unpaid (collaboration) gigs. Get your first credit, your demo footage, and establish new relationships with like-minded content creators. Also, if you have NO screen acting experience, but you truly BELIEVE that you have what it takes - COME and try out! TIMELINE: These projects are 1 day (half a day) shoots, sometimes in November (based on actors' availability). The students must complete their video editing within 2-3 weeks after their shoot.
