Male dancer for August 10th show - dancer must be between the ages of 15 and 25 and have experience in Hip Hop, Latin Dance, Ballroom, Jazz or Adage. This is for immediate casting. Review of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at Mercury Theatre Company

Shtick adds vivacity, ambiguity to Mercury Theatre’s re-envisioned ‘Joseph’ Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Member, American Theatre Critics Association “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” was written in the late-1960s by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, who were themselves in their early-20s. Their imprudence as young artists gave “Joseph” an infectious playfulness that helped make it one of the most enduring shows in the American musical theater catalog. Director Pierre-Jacques Brault has upped the show’s playfulness quotient in Mercury Theatre Company’s current production by setting it in an MGM soundstage during the Classical era of Hollywood cinema. Here, during the filming of his epic story, Joseph’s amazing coat brings Technicolor to a black and white world populated with iconic actors, including Charlie Chaplin, Mae West and the Marx Brothers. The soundstage concept is a bit muddled and occasionally at odds with the show’s intentions, but it adds layers of entertaining shtick to the storytelling and provides Brault and his designers (Nichols Thornburg (scenic), Michael Jarett (lighting), and Katelyn Jackson (costume)) with plenty of opportunities to engage in creative staging on a multi-tier performance space. Second oportunity to audition for Strongsville Theatre's Production of The Remarkable Incident at Carson Corners

STRONGSVILLE COMMUNITY THEATRE Is excited to announce auditions for their October production! Reginald Rose's The Remarkable Incident at Carson Corners was a television drama that first aired in 1955; however, it has a compelling relevance to the current "March for Our Lives" movement sparked by the recent violence in Parkland, FL. at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School. In this fable, the students of Carson Corners High School take matters into their own hands when a Freshman dies violently during a school lunch period. They ultimately teach the adults about responsibility and accountability. This production has a large cast with roles for 14 adults and 11 students, comprised of 12 males and 13 females. Adult roles range from corporate and educational professionals to blue-collar workers, one of which speaks in broken English. Age range for students is from Freshman through Senior. Carson Corners will be directed by Mark Seven, who also directed Looking and Spoon River Anthology for SCT in recent years. The second round of auditions is scheduled for the following dates: Sunday, July 22 12:30 - 3 pm Monday, July 23 6 - 9 pm They will take place at the Strongsville Senior Center (located in the west end of the Recreation Center), 18100 Royalton Rd, behind the Target store. Performance dates are: October 12 - 14, and 19 - 21, 2018. *SCT auditions are open to everyone, and no roles are pre-cast. All ethnicities are invited. *No appointments will be taken, but please plan to stay for group readings. *Prepared monologues are not required. Script cuttings and character descriptions will be provided. *SCT does not offer union contracts; all performances are volunteer.
