CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM PRESENTS A WORKSHOP PRODUCTION OF A NEW WORK AND ALL THE DEAD LIE DOWN BY HARRISON DAVID RIVERS FINAL WEEKEND: THIS THU-SAT AT 8 PM _ _ _And All the Dead Lie Down. _The story of a sero-discordant, interracial gay couple (Foss is HIV+, Alvin is not) dealing with their mixed status relationship, stigmatization, the importance of connection to family (or lack thereof) and their very different backgrounds is brought to a head by an unexpected visit by Foss’ shady, miscreant brother_._ Following the Thursday performances (July 19 and 26), con-con is hosting post-show panel conversations in partnership with representatives from The LGBT Center of Greater Cleveland, Care Alliance, Recovery Resources, and a POZ identifying community member. Radio Theatre company comes to Northeast Ohio; seeking actors, playwrights for new projects

Arts Radio Network Theatre Project, a company dedicated to performing and celebrating classic and contemporary radio drama, has recently relocated to Northeastern Ohio. The company was established in 2002 in South Florida, and performed scripts from the golden age of radio throughout the region. In addition, ARNTP created both an educational outreach program, and a new playwriting initiative with several public radio stations. We would now like to introduce ourselves to the NE Ohio theater community, discuss potential projects, and have fun with our really cool sound effect devices! We will hold our first meeting on Monday, August 13, at 7 pm. Space is limited, and light refreshments will be served. STRIKE, BOOM, BASH with BorderLight! A Carnival-Inspired Benefit Party in Support of Cleveland’s Inaugural BorderLight Festival of International Theatre Neohiopal artists and arts-lovers! Did you know that Cleveland is growing a festival of international theatre? The BorderLight Festival of International Theatre is a 4-day performing arts festival launching in Cleveland in the summer of 2019. The festival will feature top flight performances from around the world, in addition to a fringe festival and collaborations with local companies. On August 2, 2018 BorderLight is hosting “STRIKE, BOOM, BASH with BorderLight!”—a carnival-inspired benefit party in support of the inaugural BorderLight Festival of International Theatre. CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM AUDITIONS FOR THE U.S. PREMIERE OF THIS MUCH (OR AN ACT OF VIOLENCE TOWARDS THE INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE) BY JOHN FITZPATRICK THIS SUN, JULY 29, 7 PM (CALL-BACKS MON, JULY 30, 7PM) AT THE LIMINIS THEATER 2438 Scranton Rd, Cleveland 44113 in the historic Tremont neighborhood GAR isn’t sure what he wants. His boyfriend ANTHONY is the domestic type, nice but highly strung, while ALBERT, the guy Gar has been seeing on the side, is more spontaneous and transgressive. Security or fun – which should he choose? And why should he have to? Gar just wants to dance with his friends! ROLES FOR THREE MEN, TO PLAY MID-20’S TO EARLY 30’S – ANY RACE OR ETHNICITY. DANCE EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING A PLUS FOR ALL THREE ROLES. Some brief nudity might possibly be required for two of the roles. Equity contracts are not available for this production. GAR lives in apparent bliss with cleaning-obsessed boyfriend ANTHONY. Together, they bitch about their straight friends’ weddings and wish their moms were lesbians. Anthony is pressuring Gar into a marriage he sometimes wants and sometimes doesn’t want. But all the while Gar, not yet willing to embrace monogamy, is having an affair with wild kid ALBERT. After that, all collapses into emotional breakdowns and wild displays of seriously outrageous behavior. ALL THOSE AUDITIONING SHOULD COME AT 7 PM. AUDITIONS WILL CONSIST OF READINGS FROM THE SCRIPT AND MOVEMENT. (COME DRESSED FOR IT.) It successfully exposes and explores how so many aspects of modern life have evolved, yet the ideal of marriage is still coveted by the vast majority of us. The very construct was designed by and for heterosexual couples thousands of years ago, and this play proposes that non-heterosexual relationships should aspire to something different, not defined by custom.
