By turns wicked, funny, warm, romantic and touching, The Music Man is family entertainment at its best. Meredith Willson's six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy has been entertaining audiences since 1957 and is a family-friendly story to be shared with every generation. The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain's fall* Performances are Fridays and Saturdays, June 29 & July 6 and June 30 & July 7 at 7:30 pm; and Sundays July 1 and July 8 at 2:00 PM. The show is presented at the Hathaway Brown School, 19600 North Park Blvd., Shaker Heights, Ohio 44122. N ow in its sixth year, The Hathaway Brown Theatre Institute was created by the Performing Arts Department of the Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights for students 1st grade – college. “NIGHTS IN THE HEIGHTS” FREE OUTDOOR ROCKCONCERT AND CRUISE-IN The City of Broadview Heights ispleased to host the second of its four outdoor rock concerts. It will be heldFriday, July 6, rain or shine, from 7PM to 10PM. The concert willfeature the band “Pants on Fire”. Information can be found on theirwebsite: http://www.pantsonfireband.com/ The concert event will take placeon the Broadview Center grounds (9543 Broadview Road) in the pavilion near thefootball field. There will be plenty of free parking as well as shelter in theevent of rain. Food and adult beverages will be available for purchase. There will also be a “Cruise-In”hosted by Next Level Auto Detailing with specially designated parking area forthe vehicles. THE ILLUSION FACTORY SUMMER THEATER CAMP will be held at Summit Artspace in Downtown Akron. Students will learn all aspects of theater and at the end of two weeks, will offer a special performance at the Akron Art Museum Join The Illusion Factory Players this summer and explore the magical world of fairy tales! Students will spend a fun-filled two weeks at downtown Akron's Summit Artspace creating a group performance highlighting their favorite fairytales, including "Aladdin," "Snow White" and more! Students will then perform their play in front of a live audience at the beautiful Akron Art Museum on July 27th! Hi. Trying to find - or be - the perfect housemate. So many details: I am a 47 yo professional straight male, 10 years in education and mental health (my second career), full time at Cleveland State University as an Advisor/Program Coodinator, with a side gig seeing clients in a private therapy practice. After work, I fitness - gym daily, dabble in yoga, pilates, spinning, hiking, bike riding, etc. (when I have the right company). I stay busy. I am a creative writer/actor, with experience and talent writing stories, plays, movies, comedy, and am just starting to toy around with music production. I love movies. I love music. A lot. I am active in my creative hobbies. I love talking to others who love this stuff. I don't cook, but I want to, and I'd like to live with a person who will cook with me and be patient while I learn. I learn quickly. I'm still fairly new to Cleveland, been living in Lakewood, but prefer to be in Ohio City, Tremont. Somewhere with educated professionals who are also creatives - like me. Where creative goals precede the need for kid-having. I like kids, and may eventually raise one, but they are not a priority for me. I like animals - dogs and cats are great. I'm mostly extrovert - love to talk and process and out loud and joke around, and it helps me feel recharged. I also like to be alone, but less often. What I really want is a modern, clean, well-lit, easily-furnished space in Ohio City or Tremont, 2 Bed, 2 Bath with secure parking, and a person to live there with me. I could rent that space myself and find another person like me. Or I could move into another person's space that fits me. I like having a partner in the house - if it's the exact right fit - and I have had this in my life, so I know what it feels like. Eventually, that space will be taken by a girlfriend, but while I'm single, I would like to have an educated, professional, active, creative housemate, in the 30s to 50s age range. Interested?
