The Department of Theatre presents an evening with primetime television actor and co-creator of “Celebrity Deathmatch” Sean Lynch as well as “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) contributing writer Mark Riccadonna. LEC will welcome the two comedians back on Friday, March, 9, 2018 at 7 p.m. in C.K. Rickel Theater in Royce Hall for the Fine and Performing Arts. This free event is open to the public. After their sets, Lynch and Riccadonna will answer questions about their experiences working in television, sharing their expertise in the process of creating and pitching successful shows. Touring comedy headliner and actor Sean Lynch has written for MTV, IFC, Spike TV and The Food Network. He is known for playing the role of Max on AMC’s “The Walking Dead.” Recently, he was a featured panelist on the Amazon Studios show “Comics Watching Comics.” Over his career, Lynch has produced four screenplays, including “Greenpoint Tavern” (2012), “Tilting at Windmills” (2012), “Game Night” (2013), and “Comic Strip Lives” (2015). He won Best Director for “Game Night” at the 2013 International Film Festival Manhattan. Lynch has appeared on Comedy Central’s “Contest Searchlight,” MTV’s “Spring Break, Showtime’s “Comedy Shorts,” and HBO’s “Flashback.” The talented voice actor is known for his work in video games “The Walking Dead” and the Grand Theft Auto series in addition to commercials for major brands such as Pizza Hut and Dunkin Donuts. For his storytelling, Mark Riccadonna has landed shows on FOX, MTV, SPIKE TV, The CW, NBC and The Food Network. The charismatic Ohio native graduated from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and most recently played a lead role in the 2018 feature film “Days of Power.” He tours widely, having performed standup comedy for U.S. and U.N. troops on six continents. Staff Assistant Stocker Arts Center Part-time Reporting to the Director of the Stocker Arts Center, the Staff Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to: performing multiple office tasks including receptionist duties; filing; data entry; and using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook to produce, organize and disseminate Stocker event information and records. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to work some morning, evening and weekend events in a supervisory capacity as needed. Required Qualifications: High school graduate (or equivalent); knowledge and experience in standard office equipment; experienced in word processing, spreadsheets and database management using Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook; strong organizational skills; experience with social media platforms; proven customer services skills and experience; ability to work effectively in a team environment; ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule an average of 25 hours per week, which may include early mornings, evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree; knowledge of Resource 25 scheduling software; usher/theatre/house manager experience; and knowledge and interest in the visual and performing arts. LCCC presents 39th Annual Masterworks Concert “Mostly Mozart” Lorain County Community College’s Civic Chorale and Civic Orchestra will present “Mostly Mozart” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 10 in the Stocker Arts Center’s Hoke Theatre under the direction of guest conductor, William E. Davis III. The program will feature Mozart’s “Requim,” his final powerful and exciting masterpiece. Featured soloists will include Janine Porter, soprano; Nancy Davis, alto; Ronnie Dailey, tenor; and Thomas Wojnarowski, baritone. The program will also include selections by Vivaldi and Handel, two Baroque composers admired by Mozart, during this annual masterworks concert. *Seeking Instructors for Fall 2018 Art Classes* The Shaker Arts Council invites local artist, artisans and art aficionados to submit proposals for art related classes that will be offered through the Shaker Heights Department of Recreation. The classes will be scheduled for the Fall of 2018, between September 10 and November 12. These community classes can cover any artistic genre, for example, dance, jewelry making, painting, writing, improvisation, music theory, scrapbooking, or even juggling. Classes can be 4, 6, or 8 sessions depending on instructor’s preference. Instructors will receive 70% of the tuition collected for the course. If a course is accepted into the curriculum, adjustments in the final format may be necessary to meet scheduling needs or classroom availability. The Shaker Heights Department of Recreation will work with faculty to finalize arrangements.
