The Brecksville Theatre announces Auditions for Love Letters and Vagina Monologues Directed by Brittni Addison Monday Dec. 4th and TuesdayDec. 5th (callbacks) 6:30-9:30pm Auditions held at the Old Town Hall Annex 49 Public Square Brecksville ,Ohio For Vagina Monologues: Seeking a diverse cast of 6-12 women+ eager to engage in a truly ensemble-based experience. While actors cast will be assigned specific monologues, all members of the ensemble will be on stage for the entire performance, creating space and setting mood through physical and vocal presence. The ability to work as a team is vital. The ability to move, sing, or play an instrument is a plus, but not required. Anyone who identifies as a woman+ is encouraged to audition, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, body type, ability, or sexual orientation. For Love Letters: Seeking two individuals who can portray their characters from childhood through adulthood. A strong command of language is desired, as is the ability to manifest the characters physically at different stages of their lives. Andrew Ladd, III (Andy) - Any age- can play 7-70. host for musical rainbow prep videos As a compelling actor with a passion for music and early childhood education, the Musical Rainbow Prep Video Host will host preparatory videos that engage students and teachers in PNC Grow Up Great pre-k programs as well as families prior to attending a Musical Rainbow concert at Severance Hall. Collaborating with The Cleveland Orchestra's Education Department, the host will demonstrate participatory activities and perform children's songs in the Musical Rainbow Prep Video recordings. The host is expected to study and prepare the script, activities and songs in advance of filming. All instruments, props and materials will be provided. Prep Videos for Spring 2018 include: * 1 Concert Prep Video (introduces concert etiquette and Severance Hall) [1-2 min] * 4 Instrument Prep Videos (engaging, participatory videos that focus on one instrument of the orchestra with curricular learning objectives for students ages PreK-grade 1) [5-6 min] * 8 Song Videos (children's songs like Twinkle Twinkle, BINGO, Old MacDonald) [1-2 min] The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics: * Warm and nurturing disposition * Passion for music and early childhood education * Ability to introduce content in an age-appropriate manner for pre-k students * Vocal performance experience * Willingness to collaborate with Education staff All ethnicities, ages, races, and genders encouraged to apply Time commitment: one 6-8 hour filming day in both January and February; script read-throughs in person or over the phone prior to filming. Cleveland Public Theatre announces Auditions for Entry Point a part of CPT's New Play Development Series Looking to cast... * 15 - 20 Actors of all ethnicities and types! Cleveland Public Theatre is helping Lead Artists of Entry Point to cast several selections as part of our 2017-2018 Entry Point festival. We are looking to cast a diverse group of actors of all ages and types interested in supporting the development of new work. Actors with singing ability, fight choreography experience or a willingness to learn, and individuals comfortable with movement training are strongly encouraged to audition. Entry Point will be a weekend festival of raw art-in-progress-a platform for artists to develop new work that is in early stages of creation. Each project in Entry Point has unique needs and goals. Public presentations during the festival will range from staged readings to presenting short segments of a new work to open rehearsals of the creation process - all in different spaces throughout the CPT campus. For example, audience members may see a staged reading in one space, then see a segment of a devised work in another space, and then close out their evening by hanging out in a casual lounge to share their experiences with fellow audience members and artists. Auditions When: Sunday, December 10th from 12pm-4pm and Monday, December 11th from 6pm-9pm Where: CPT's Campus (6415 Detroit Ave) Auditions are by appointment only. Actors will be given sides at the audition for cold readings. They should also come with one 1 - 2 minute prepared contemporary monologue that they may be asked to perform. Actors may also be asked to sing a short a cappella song. Please bring 5 copies of your headshot and resume, if available, or recent picture. Actors should be prepared to stay for the duration of auditions. Information concerning some of the shows: BIPOLAR MIXTAPE Created and Directed by Meredith L. THE LOST DIARY Written by David Hansen and Chennelle Bryant-Harris Directed by Kelly Elliot In The Lost Diary, white nationalists have declared a holy war. There has been a massive terrorist attack in central Washington D.C., during a time in the not-too-distant future when the American government is fracturing. An anonymous man has been injured and is in the care of a woman, who may or may not be a medical professional, a government agent, or something else. THE MINT PLAY Written by William Burke Directed by Ismael Lara The world shrinks as Margaret and The Operator climb through telephone wires, switchboards, searching for each other. Every so often, a painting wrapped in brown paper flies up into the sky, drops down, out for delivery. Everyone searches. AND OTHERS! More information concerning additional shows and the ones listed above will be available at auditions. Entry Point will need the following commitment: 1. Entry Point will take place on Thursday, January 18th through Sunday, January 21st. 2. Rehearsals prior to performance vary with each Entry Point project: some may require as many as 5 weeks of rehearsal and some may require as little as 9 hours. Be prepared to share your availability on your audition form at your scheduled audition. AEA contracts will not be considered. Non-AEA actors will receive a very small stipend. Dr. Hutton has a Masters Degree and Doctorate of Music Arts degree in Vocal Pedagogy (Science of Singing) from Arizona State University, and is fluent in teaching both belting/music theatre technique and classical technique. Christopher attended Youngstown State University where he received his Bachelors in Voice Performance. He has also performed opera at regional opera houses for over thirteen years. Dr. Hutton offers free consultations to those interested before committing to the voice studio.
