Join Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) as we journey to our nation’s capital for a memorable, all-inclusive trip. Ashland-based guide and historian, Elaine Hess will accompany the group and serve as tour guide throughout. Auditions for Dale Wasserman’s *ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST* (based on the novel by Ken Kesey) will take place at The Beck Center in Lakewood, OH on Wednesday, July 19th and Thursday, July 20th *by appointment only*. NYC based Guest Director William Roudebush is seeking a cast of 21 (16 men and 5 Women) for Beck Center’s opening show on the Mackey Main Stage. Some doubling may occur. *ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO’S NEST* opens September 15th and closes Oct. 8th. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons, with an added Thursday evening on Oct. 5th. Rehearsals will begin approximately August 15th, give or take a few days. Ages of characters vary greatly, but range from early 20’s thru 70. *All roles are OPEN!* No early casting has taken place. It is anticipated that two Equity contracts will be offered (Guest Artist---Tier 1). All non-union actors 18 and over are compensated for their participation. Major roles include: Randle P. McMurphy, Nurse Ratched, Dale Harding, Billy Bibbit and Chief Bromden (seeking actors 6’2 and taller for the chief, ideally with a non-caucasian background.) Resident Teaching Artist Center for Arts-Inspired Learning The Center for Arts-Inspired Learning is hiring a Resident Teaching Artist with mastery in theatre, music or musical theatre to facilitate in-school and out-of-school time residencies. The Resident Teaching Artist will work to ensure the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning develops successful, effective and creative arts integration and educational programs throughout Northeast Ohio for a variety of learners. Resident Teaching Artists will research and develop programs that are innovative, artistic and are connected to core subject matter. RTAs will also gather data, document processes and participate in professional development as appropriate. The position also demands an understanding of youth development and how to effectively engage students who represent multiple ages, backgrounds and previous exposure to the arts. This is a full-time salaried position that includes benefits. The Resident Teaching Artist would be part of a team of teaching artists who already have demonstrated excellence in the field and who contribute greatly to the culture and continued evolution of the Center for Arts-Inspired Learning. This position requires a great deal of flexibility and creative adaptation of time to serve and be successful in multiple classroom and community environments. Requirements: * Must have a college degree or equivalent experience in Theatre, Music, Musical Theatre or Education * Experience producing or performing art form professionally * Extensive classroom teaching experience * Experience in developing and communicating arts curriculum * Excellent communication skills * Must have reliable transportation * Proficient computer skills * Must have a flexible schedule and daytime availability * Candidate must successfully pass FBI and state of Ohio background checks Compensation: Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience of the candidate and highly competitive to what is being offered by similar organizations.
