FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 1, 2017 Great Lakes Theater Announces Auditions for Actor/Teachers Great Lakes Theater (GLT) announces auditions for non-Equity actor/teachers for its School Residency Program for the 2017 – 2018 school year. Actors of all cultural backgrounds are encouraged to audition. These are full-time, seasonal, paid positions, offered from August/September, 2017 through May, 2018. Requirements include an undergraduate degree in any discipline, as well as previous stage experience or actor training. Teaching experience or prior work with elementary, junior high or high school age students is a plus, but not required. Applicants must have a valid driver license, a reliable automobile and complete a background check. Applicants are requested to prepare one Shakespearean monologue and one contrasting contemporary monologue for the audition. Both monologues should total no more than three minutes combined. All auditions are by appointment only. Applicants must schedule an audition online. Behind-the-Scenes: Cleveland Play House CARE Monologues Take a FREE peek inside the 2017 New Ground Theatre Festival Saturday, May 13, 2017 | 5 – 6 p.m. In this special Behind-the-Scenes event, you will learn more about the CARE (Compassionate Arts Remaking Education) program, screen a selection of the monologues performed by professional actors, and hear from CPH’s artistic and educational staff about the entire process. If schedules align, participating playwrights might join. Cleveland Play House has commissioned 16 playwrights to create 32 monologues for our prestigious CARE curriculum. Funded by the US Department of Education, CARE aims to provide scholars in urban school districts with high-quality theatre education programs, while improving English Language Arts skills and Social Emotional Competencies. The monologues were developed specifically with our Cleveland Metropolitan School district students in mind and explore a wide range of emotions including joy, pride, despair, worry, and anger. *All We Need is One Good Man/Woman...A Few Good Ones Aren't Necessary* The Olde Towne Hall Theatre, located at 36199 Center Ridge Rd. in North Ridgeville, OH 44039, is a community theatre located on the border of Lorain/Cuyahoga Counties. We are looking for an amazing *Technical Director* for our captivating 38th season. The Technical Director will become a member of our Board Of Directors and will be able to attend one Board Meeting per month and build sets for 5-6 productions per year. Each season, we usually put on 1 Adult Musical, 1 Mystery,1 Comedy and 2 Youth Musicals a Year (Youth assist in painting and other tasks for their shows). We have tools, we have great design ideas, now we just need an amazing individual to bring them to fruition! Stipends are paid for each show. City Ballet of Cleveland 2017 Audition Date: Sunday, May 7 Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm Followed by Parents’ Meeting at 3:00pmThe City Ballet of Cleveland (CBC) audition is open to all serious dancers of ballet ages 10-21.� The company has two annual performances in May and December, as well as performances at All Ohio Dance Festival, and local schools.� Applications are available upon request at the Front Desk and online at www.cityballetofcleveland.org �under Company information. Potential dancers do not have to be students at Cleveland City Dance.� All dancers must�be a minimum of 10 years old by September 2017; be currently taking ballet and jazz.� Notice of nondiscriminatory policy; The City Ballet of Cleveland does not discriminate based on race, color, national and ethnic origin, ancestry or nationality in its admissions policies, scholarship programs or any other company activities administered. If you do make it into the Company, you would need your current dance school to sign off monthly to confirm you are taking the required dance training to dance with the Company. All potential Company members must audition in the Spring prior to the upcoming season. This includes all current Company members.� There is a $25 non-refundable audition fee (cash or check) which will be applied toward the Company fall participation fee.
