With mounting child support payments looming and chance of losing visitation with his son, Nathan, he concocts an audacious plan to make some quick cash. He, with his hesitant best friend, Dave, assemble a ragtag group of unlikely candidates — each with their own burdens and dreams — after witnessing the electrifying excitement of their wives at a touring Chippendales show. As this motley crew prepares for a show of their own, each member faces their own demons, tackling feelings of isolation, insecurities, and unfulfilled aspirations. Through heartwarming and often humorous encounters, they discover an unexpected camaraderie and sense of belonging as they bond over their shared mission. Everyone Loves a Murder Mystery, Until the Wrong Person Dies! The Roaring 2020s: An Original Interactive Murder Mystery Dinner Experience, will run for two performances at Reithoffer’s in Chagrin Falls on March 6th and 13th at 6:30pm. Over a three course meal, catered by Normandy Catering, guests explore an immersive world of malicious mobsters and spectacular speakeasies while backstage drama slowly takes over. When the wrong person is killed in the middle of the performance, the cast must break character and solve the mystery of a murder that happened at their murder mystery dinner experience. The Roaring 2020s is unique, even among murder mystery dinner productions. “I wrote this show to explore a unique desire among audiences, ” says writer/director/producer, Jesse Oyster. “Attempting to break an actor out of character is usually frowned upon in most interactive productions, but that is where the real mystery hides in The Roaring 2020s. It's all up to you to peel back the layers. ” Jesse has been an active artist in the Ohio theatrical space for over a decade, having spent the past year as a cast member in Ruth: The Musical and A Christmas Carol: a New Musical at the Ohio Star Theatre. Jesse is a graduate from Kent State University with degrees in Marketing and Theatre who loves to create unique artistic opportunities to inspire local artists and audiences. “The Roaring 2020s feels like Clue (1985) meets an interactive version of The Play that goes wrong. Though I hadn’t seen either when I picked up the pen. ” “It is a beautiful blend between classic period murder mystery troupes and a modern day setting, ” says actor James Bearss. “This play is an octopus, just when you think you know what’s going on the other foot drops. ” Bearss has been involved with the Roaring 2020s since the initial staged reading in January 2024 and is excited to bring the heartbroken con man, Doctor Hector Brown, to life alongside lead actor Connor Mast, performing the role of Massimo Capone. “Hector is a comedic foil character that you love to hate, while Massimo is more of a silent threat. Connor plays the role like a mob boss kingpin who could break your spirit without uttering a word. ” Joining Bearss and Mast will be Talia Eshenbaugh as the Russian vodka smuggler Bertha Bronowich, Brianna Clark as jazz singer Trixie Tiramisu, Mario Becerra as the eccentric Chef Pablo, Corey Hughes as the aloof henchman Stephano Bricker, and Sarah Parr as struggling speakeasy owner Lucy Lancer. The Roaring 2020s is proudly hosted by Reithoffer’s, also known as Hoff’s, Cleveland’s eclectic event center. “At Hoff’s, Our mission is to support and preserve local arts and culture. ” Says venue owner Debby Heine Wein. Hello all, Here is some potentially good news in terms of arts funding. Reach out to me for an initial free conversation. My rates to create applications are reasonable and artist friendly. Margaret Jazz Road Tours, a program of South Arts, provides grants to jazz artists for three- to six-site tours across the United States and its territories. Individual artists (as an individual, an artist-led nonprofit organization, or an artist-led corporation) may apply for tours at an array of venue types. Applicants must be professional jazz artists over the age of 18, working solo or working with a composer-led or collective jazz ensemble, that are based in and citizens of the U.S. Funding covers performance fees, travel, lodging, meals, backline equipment, and up to $2,500 for non-musician personnel. Priority is given to tours including engagements in rural areas or that reach typically underserved communities.

*Painting the Town: Art Competition for Utility Box Designs* Building on the success of nine years of traffic utility box projects, the Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) is pleased to announce this year’s project: *Painting the Town*. SHAC is sponsoring a juried *art competition* for the design of *utility boxes* located in Shaker Heights. Local artists are invited to participate. Please download the *attached template and application*. All designs must be submitted electronically on the template provided. Designs and applications must be submitted to SHAC via email (info(a)shakerartscouncil.org) no later than *Friday 21 March** 2025.* Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 21 years old and live or work in Shaker Heights. Artists whose designs have been installed in three (3) consecutive years may not apply. Applicants may submit more than one (1) design, but each must be submitted in a separate email.
