Mandel JCC Performing Arts Camp Staff Needed

Good Morning!! Mandel JCC Performing Arts Camp is looking for a few more staff members to complete our summer team! Specifically, we are still in need of the following: - 3-8 Grade Supervisor (overseeing staff for this age group)- Two Senior Counselors for Dance (one for kids in grades K-2, one for kids in grades 3-8)- Two Senior Counselors for Music (one for kids in grades K-2, one for kids in grades 3-8) These positions offer a great opportunity to work with awesome kids in a camp setting while sharing the skills you have learned through theatre, dance, and music training and experience! They also offer leadership training and experience. As Supervisor, you would have the opportunity to oversee staff and help with program development. Senior Counselors work with their Junior Counselors to create fun, exciting classes for all campers. They also participate in rehearsals for the final show. Dance counselors have the opportunity to choreograph the summer shows. This is a great resume builder for high school and college students. We hire students going into 10th grade as of the fall of 2017, but Senior Counselors should be going into 12th grade or in college as of the fall of 2017. AUDITIONS FOR CAMEO’S 2017 SUMMER MUSICAL, NEXT TO NORMAL MEDINA, Ohio, March 17, 2017 – CAMEO proudly announces auditions for its summer musical, Next to Normal. This profound, relevant, electrifying musical, winner of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, will be presented in the beautiful Medina Performing Arts Center July 14, 15, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 at 8 PM and July 16, 23, & 30 at 4 PM. Auditions for Next to Normal will take place Saturday, May 6 from 5-9 PM, Sunday, May 7 from 7-9 PM, and Monday, May 8, from 7-10PM. Auditions will be held at the Medina Performing Arts Center, 851 Weymouth Rd, Medina Ohio. Callbacks will be Thursday, May 11 from 7:30-10 PM. Call-backs will also be held at the Medina Performing Arts Center. Prepare 16-32 bars of music in the style of the show that best displays your vocal abilities as they relate to the role you are seeking. Prepare a monologue of your choice, approximately 1-2 minutes in length. Please bring your resume, headshot, and music clearly marked, as an accompanist will be provided. No recorded music will be permitted for accompaniment. Rehearsals begin for Next to Normal on Tuesday, May 30. All rehearsals will take place at the Medina Performing Arts Center. Rehearsals are generally scheduled Sundays-Thursdays from 7-10PM. Company members will be called as needed, and therefore may not be required to attend every rehearsal. Please prepare and bring a complete list of conflicts ranging from the start of the rehearsal process thru the close of the production at the time of auditions. We are currently casting roles for our low budget feature film, ‘My Summer In Ohio’. PLOT: A recent college graduate moves to a town near Cleveland with the goal of returning a notebook to someone. Before she can, her house in broken into and along with all of her money, the notebook is stolen. This puts her on a mission to find her stolen property and return the notebook to its original owner. Casting the following lead roles: SAMANTHA Female, age 21-23. All ethnicities Recent college graduate and new in town. Strong and direct. Easily irritated by others and keeping a secret that will effect everyone around her. GRETCHEN Female, age 18-21. All ethnicities Reserved and quiet. She is still suffering from the death of her boyfriend. Spends a lot of her time alone until she meets Samantha. NATE Male, age 18-21. All ethnicities Upbeat and outgoing. Setting a huge goal for his summer vacation in order to distract from the death of his brother. Filming will take place in the Cleveland area throughout July and August. This is non-union.
