ALL ROLES AVAILABLE. Chagrin Valley Little Theatre does not pre-cast without prior announcement. Rehearsals: Regular Rehearsals will start June 12th. (There will be a read through scheduled in May.) Rehearsals will be held based on actor availability. 4-5 days a week expected. Sunday-Thursday 7-10 No conflicts will be accepted for any performance dates or during tech week. CVLT does not offer union contracts or cast understudies and all performers are volunteers. Show Information; Winner of the Tony "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, Avenue Q is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart. The laugh-out-loud musical tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton, who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that, although the residents seem nice, it's clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates and their ever-elusive purpose in life. Filled with gut-busting humor and a delightfully catchy score, not to mention puppets, Avenue Q is a truly unique show that has quickly become a favorite for audiences everywhere. Although the show addresses humorous adult issues, it is similar to a beloved children's show; a place where puppets are friends, Monsters are good and life lessons are learned. Casting Requirements Looking for a cast of 11, ages 18+ for all roles. No previous puppetry experience needed; just strength, dedication and will! All Races,Genders, and Ethnicities will be considered for all parts. Most Characters will actually play multiple parts. Princeton A fresh-faced kid just out of college and the protagonist. Puppet. Puppet. Gender: Male Vocal range: B2-B4 Rod An investment banker who is Republican and a closeted homosexual. Puppet. Gender: Male Vocal range: A2-G4 Trekkie Monster A reclusive creature obsessed with the Internet and all it has to offer. Puppet. Gender: Male (Female actresses will also be considered.) Vocal range: Bb2-Eb4 Lucy A vixenish vamp with a dangerous edge. Puppet. Gender: Female Vocal range: F3-F5 The Bad Idea Bears Two snuggly, cute teddy-bear types. Puppets. Gender: Male and/or Female Brian A laid-back guy married to Christmas Eve. Gender: Male Vocal range: B2-F#4 Christmas Eve A therapist who recently moved to Avenue Q from Japan. Gender: Female Vocal range: B3-F#5 Gary Coleman Yes, that Gary Coleman. Lives on the Avenue and is superintendent of the apartment buildings. Gender: Male or Female Vocal range: D3-Bb5 DIRECTOR Will C. Crosby -- Originally from Lakewood, Will has worked all over the Cleveland area as an Actor, Director, and Stage Manager. Most recently Will was seen as Prince Herbert/ Not-Dead-Fred in Weathervane's production of Monty Pythons Spamalot. Other notable roles include Smee in Peter and the Starcatcher (Weathervane), Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls(Olmstead Performing Arts), William Barfee in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Huntington Playhouse) and the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz(CAMEO.) Will worked as the Director of the Garfield Middle School drama program in Lakewood, as well as directed for this year's 8x10 TheaterFest at Weathervane. FILMMAKERS, MEET THE TEEN ANGELS

“Teen Angels,” my truth-based, edgy drama set to rap and ‘60’s R & B is available for production, and I am seeking a Cleveland centric filmmaker with a vision akin to my own with whom to collaborate.If that wets your appetite, please contact me at Joeybauer1967(a)gmail.com,, and I will forward the screenplay. With a mixed gender and culturally diverse cast of nine, a single set, just one scene and a running time of 90 minutes, “Teen Angels” features a barrage of in-your-face dialogue and pure provocation. Viewers, particularly ages 13 – 25, are in store for lots of bang for their buck with this one; it brazenly holds absolutely nothing whatsoever sacred: family values, the law of the land nor, especially, authority figures of all stripes. The story takes place in a day room at Los Angeles County Juvenile Hall now and focuses on a very unique group therapy session, for which the closest comparison is a no-rules-ultimate-fighting-cage-match, led by social worker and aspiring movie cowboy, Mel Feinberg, 26, self-described as “a wise ass on a short leash.” The posse consists of seven inmates, all of them age 17, awaiting sentencing and quivering in a melodramatic display of mock fear of Dr. Crabtree, Afr. Am., the facility’s director, staunch advocate of force feeding her charges with the gospel by any means necessary. As a side bar, we are drawn into the kids’ compelling histories of victimization and mind-blowing mayhem. With tongues and minds racing at warp speed and thoughts and emotions jostling for position, they are aggressively sniffing out each other’s identities like a newly formed pack of dogs. We watch as they fight the power with only the strong left standing. My other work includes the haut risqué memoir, *Hollywood Raw*, and “On the Wall,” an urban drama, presented by L.A.’s Barnsdal Gallery Theatre. In addition, “Hotel California,” my psychological thriller, and “Hollywood Cowboy,” my comedy, - (both read at Cleveland’s Ensemble Theatre) – put my stamp on a multitude of theater patrons’ must-see lists. The Manhattan Project - Cleveland Lab seeks to do the same for the Cleveland stage. Thank Heaven! This year The Manhattan Project is excited to host our first (and most likely last) Purity Ball! The Manhattan Project is a low-stakes, nonthreatening place for actors and playwrights to meet and work together. Based on the Theatre Lab model taught at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and inspired by The Brooklyn Generator in New York, The Manhattan Project wants to introduce Cleveland actors and playwrights to each other by organizing a bi-monthly production of brand new 10-minute plays. Participating artists will meet early in the month and will be broken into teams, each with one playwright. The playwright will then be given a writing prompt to write a new 10-minute play based on the prompt and including all the team's actors. The rest of the evening the team members will get to know each other and get a feel for each other's skills and voices. The teams will reconvene later in the month to perform these plays for each other. These 10-minute plays are not an end in themselves. Through these small collaborations we hope to build relationships between the two most vulnerable artists in theatre; the actors who put themselves on stage and the playwrights who pour themselves onto the page. Perhaps these 10-minute plays will grow into longer works or maybe these collaborations will become partnerships on larger projects.
