Based on the classic Walt Disney movie, and expanded to include additional episodes from P.L. Travers’ Mary Poppins books, the show is a “ Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” delight for the entire family. *The performance dates are*: February 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24 & 25. Curtain time is 8:00 p.m., with Sunday February 12 & February 19 being 2:00 pm matinees. The February 12th performance will be interpreted with American Sign Language specialists. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures. However, the children aren’t the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even Mr. and Mrs. Banks learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.” Bringing this irresistible story to life is a production team that includes director Claudia Lillibridge, of Twinsburg, musical director Ron Jones, of Stow, assistant musical director Bridget Jankowski, of Cuyahoga Falls, and choreographer Connie Fleming, of Stow. Female and Male actors ages 21+needed for Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Show. The performance will be held on April 23rd at the Madison OH VFW on Lake Road. The show is performed as a fundraiser for the M.S. Society and therefore is non-paying. All proceeds go to the charity. It is an original script titled A Jungle of Lies. Casting is being done the first two weeks of February. Improv experience is a plus. You will be left on your own to talk to audience members for portions of the show. Rehearsals will most likely take place between 2-5:30 p.m. in Madison OH. Details are still being worked out and subject to change. This Saturday, February 4th at 4:00pm, Beck Center for the Arts will present a free, special event as part of its current gallery exhibit, Playing the Changes: The Life and Legacy of Milt Hinton This Curator Showcase will feature a presentation by Oberlin Curator, Jeremy Smith, and a music performance by Oberlin Professor, Peter Dominguez who will be playing Milt Hinton's famous ca. 1750 double bass. This event is free and open to the public, and no registration is required. For more information please call 216.521.2540 ext 37, or visit www.beckcenter.org About the exhibit Beck Center for the Arts has partnered with Oberlin College to present a photography installation celebrating the life and legacy of Milt Hinton, one of the most accomplished jazz bassists of the 20th century. In addition to his bass clef mastery, Milt was also an avid photographer who captured over 60,000 images in his lifetime. On display through February 18th, Beck Center will feature in its gallery a traveling exhibit developed by Oberlin College and the Milton J. Hinton Photographic Collection. It combines original photographs by Hinton with insightful materials drawn from the Milton J. and Mona C. Hinton Collection in the Oberlin Conservatory Library's special collections to provide an unrivaled perspective on Milt's life and legacy. About Milt Hinton Milton John Hinton (June 23, 1910 - December 19, 2000) was a legendary bass player and photographer. Over the course of his seven-decade career, he became one of the most recorded bassists in history. He also took tens of thousands of photographs that capture his behind-the-scenes life in music. He socially navigated the evolving expectations of what it meant to be an African-American in the U.S. in the 20th century including his Jim-Crow-era travels with the Cab Calloway Orchestra, and working through the color barrier in New York recording studios during 1950's segregation.

EXIT THE BODY by Fred Carmichael Directed by Dave Cotton Audition Dates and Times: Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 2 pm Monday, February 13, 2017 at 7 pm Auditions will take place in the Stocker Arts Center's Cirigliano Studio Theatre on the campus of Lorain County Community College 1005 N. Abbe Road Elyria, OH 44070 Auditions are open to all LCCC Students, Faculty/Staff and Community Members. No AEA contracts available. Production Dates are April 27-29, 2017 8 pm performances Rehearsals commence on or around February 27, 2017 Synopsis: A mystery writer rents a New England house that is the rendezvous point for some jewel thieves. The focal point of the set is the closet which opens into a living room and a library. A body found in the closet promptly disappears only to be succeeded by another. The hunt for the jewels reaches a climax at two A.M. when four couples unknown to each other turn up to search. Not since the days of Mack Sennett has there been such a hilarious series of entrances and exits. What to Prepare: Monologues are welcome, but the focus of the auditions will be on cold readings of scenes from the script. Copies of the script are on reserve and available for perusal in the LCCC Bass Library. Please note that they cannot be checked out. The following roles are available. Nothing has been precast. LILLIAN SEYMOUR 35+ Designer of high end fashion for women; a classy lady but with an odd sense of humor. LYLE ROGERS 35+ Lillian’s new husband; good sport who puts up with more than he should. JENNY 20’s Simple, home-spun maid/cook; she has a big secret. RANDOLPH late 20’s Trying hard to be a classy crook, and not succeeding. HELEN O’TOOLE any age; A “down home” real estate agent with a secret. VERNON COOKLEY late 40’s/early 50’s; Sheriff; he’s a combination of Andy Taylor and Barney Fife. He is also the taxi driver, justice of the peace and sexton of the church PHILIP SMITH any age; a detective who spends most of the show suffering from amnesia. KATE BIXLEY 35+ Overflowing with wit and sarcasm, she is secretary to the mystery writer. She is a bachelorette on the prowl. CRANE HAMMOND 35+ Famous mystery writer; clever, charming, likable; she may be the only one with any sense. RICHARD HAMMOND 35+ Crane’s husband; a would be novelist who currently writes an advice column under the pen name of Dorothy Duckworth. He is only in the last act.
