Greetings Creative Colleagues, One day I was cold and needed a sweater. I went to the sweater store and asked the shopkeeper if I could borrow a sweater and wear it whenever I needed it. He seemed confused and thought he would prefer to be paid for the sweater since he had done all the work to locate the sweater, and order it, and pay for it, and open the store and all. One day I was in need of a gig. So I went to NEohioPAL and found loads of interesting stuff that got delivered right to my email constantly. I read it all the time, got some jobs from the postings and shared a lot of the information with others and sometimes they got jobs, too. I wanted to use it all for free whenever I happened to need it. Then I remembered how the shopkeeper wanted me to pay for the sweater. And how public radio asks me to pay for listening every single day. And then Fred asked me to pay for NEohioPAL -- whatever I could afford... And so I did. It's all about supporting each other. It's all about being in this Life Business together. THANK YOU, FRED -- You are amazing!!! Denial is Not a River in Egypt Director Brian Westerley is looking for two actors for this staged reading. The story: A dramedy about Spencer, a young gay man who, while comfortable with his sexuality, still has a problem falling for the wrong guy. In this case, it's his best friend, Curtis. Curtis is a straight guy, living with his girlfriend, Cadella, a manipulative shrew who will do anything to hold on to her man. We also meet Casey, Spencer's ex & now voice of reason, & Erica, Curtis's old school chum. Together, they do their level best to show Curtis that denial is really only a river in Egypt. Looking for: Curtis: 20-35; naïve; gullible; has sexuality issues; a bit of a drinker Casey: 20-35; Spencer's ex & now close friend; sounding board Performance date is Monday, March 13th at Stow Players. Review of "Baskerville" at Cleveland Play House

Cleveland Play House offers a marvelously madcap ‘Baskerville’ Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Member, International Association of Theatre Critics The Cleveland Play House has a long-term love affair with playwright Ken Ludwig. After staging world premiere productions of his “Leading Ladies” in 2004, “The Game’s Afoot” in 2011 and “A Comedy of Tenors” to open its centennial season in 2015, “Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery” is currently on stage at the Allen Theatre. It is easy to see the attraction. Ludwig has mastered the farce formula – the silly situations, the witty repartee delivered at lightning speed, and the hyper-dramatic and highly stylized funny-business – and now his plays are branded with his own name in their titles. It is enough to turn an artistic director’s head. But sometimes, in long-term affairs, love is simply taken for granted and less effort is made to keep it vibrant. That seems to be the case with “Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery.” Before the Cleveland Play House produces his next play, it may want to consider hiring Dr. Ruth Westheimer as the dramaturg. This is one of those shows. Fred Sternfeld, the director, takes a masterpiece (Arthur Miller,) and accomplishes total clarity when going from the present to past, (no easy task,) and drawing nuance and broad dynamic range from every cast member. Greg White was wonderful when he played Willy Lomond at The Ensemble Theater Production. Tonight, IMHO, he went to another level, buoyed by the always engaged and compassionate Anne McEvoy as Linda, James Rankin (Biff ) and Jeremy Jankins (Happy), who were raw and believable in every moment. I cannot name every cast member here, but I can assure you that this is one of those magical productions where the play transcends any one individual and the talented cast soars as an ensemble to do it justice. I do have to mention, however, that Stuart Hoffman's in-character " choreography" to set his scene as Howard Wagner was as fluid as any dance moves you will ever see on DWTS!! We were mesmerized from the start to the heart-breaking end. Stephen & I ushered, so the first act we were sitting to the side, where all good ushers sit. At the intermission, Fred said, " There are two empty seats next to us, want to move?" Of course, I was in motion before he finished the question. I did not realize, however, that the seats were in the front row. As I began to cry for the last 20 minutes I held it together and then said to Fred. " I didn't want to disturb you by audibly sniffing out loud." His was response was " Oh, I like when that happens! " because that means that the actors have successfully broken through the "wall" and we are all sharing the emotional impact of the play. That also means, we talked about why it moved us so all the way home, and most likely, will be dissecting it tomorrow as well. The cast deserves a full house tomorrow and you deserve to see Cleveland Theater at it's finest. Peace, love and namaste, Evie Morris
