Cleveland Ballet Youth Company Audition Sunday, January 15, 2017 When Registration: 10:00 am Audition Class: 11:00 am - 12:30 pm Where Cleveland Ballet Studio 23030 Miles Road Cleveland, OH 44128 Who Can Audition? Any students between the ages of 14-19 years old, who have reached an advanced level of classical ballet training, and is currently training at a classical ballet institution. More about Cleveland Ballet Youth Company Training Under the Artistic Direction of Gladisa Guadalupe, Associate Artistic Director, Tuni Deignan, and Ballet Master, Cynthia Graham, members of the CBYC will participate in a well-balanced schedule of classes and rehearsals that will include: classical ballet technique, pointe, variations, character and modern. In addition and to compliment the ballet curriculum, classes on pilates, yoga, injury prevention and preparation, and guidance for auditions are also implemented. Choreography Members of the CBYC will be exposed to and work closely with artistic faculty of Cleveland Ballet Company as well as other noted choreographers. Performances Members will obtain performance experience through outreach performances, in studio presentations, as well as theatre performances. Students will have the opportunity to performance at such venues as Playhouse Square, Severance Hall, Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Institute of Music, among others. Masterclass Workshop at Verb Ballets This Thursday and Friday

Verb Ballets is excited to offer a Masterclass Workshop on Thursday, December 29th and Friday, December 30th at Verb Ballets Studio in Shaker Heights. This program includes classes in ballet, pointe, variations, jazz/contemporary dance and modern. Classes will be taught by professionals Pamela Pribisco, Richard Dickinson, Antwon Duncan, Aseelah Shareef and Kelly Korfhage. These classes are recommended for all students ages 12+ and are open to all dancers who would like to attend from local studios, colleges or community. Cost is $75/day and includes full day intensive with lunch and snacks. Registration for one or both days available. REQUIREMENTS A love of working with children and teens. <> Classical ballet training (professional experience not required). Clear understanding of basic ballet for children from 3-years of age and up. Thirst for learning about early childhood development, behaviors, and developmentally appropriate demands on students. <> Comfortable leading a class and interacting with parents and children. Year-long teaching commitment. Experience in early childhood education a plus. Advanced degree in Dance Pedagogy or Dance Performance a plus. Comfortable using computer systems for office documentation, record keeping, social media, e-mail, etc. Comfortable with online learning and using web-based technologies. Training on-site and travel (once per year) in well-reputed dance curricula. Expenses paid by Thrive. Non-compete agreement for certain licensed Thrive dance program offerings.
