Outside Circle Theater Project (OCTP) is holding auditions for the upcoming April 2025 production of Nine Dinners In October, a play about friendship, life, love, and loss written by Rachel Zake and directed by Truth Taylor. Auditions will be held on Saturday, February 8th, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Mad Factory, 39 S. Main Street, Oberlin. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Performance dates are April 4, 5, and 6, 2025. Auditions are by appointment only and will consist of cold reading from the script. No acting experience is necessary. All are welcome. *The Ascension of Jordan L. Wells During the 2017 Total Lunar *Eclipse is a new work by Dylan Todd Brown, directed and produced by Kyra Cutsail for Cleveland PUBLIC Theatre’s Test Flight Series. We will be holding auditions by appointment this week, today, Monday, January 20 through Friday, January 24. Note: This will be a staged reading of the piece. We are looking for 6 non-AEA actors. *The Ascension of Jordan L. Wells *is a psychological horror that explores the thin line between belief, sacrifice, and the unknown. During a camping trip under the 2017 total lunar eclipse, unraveling secrets and rising tensions force friends to confront their deepest fears—and the consequences of their actions*. Content Warning**: This play contains horror elements, adult language, and violence.* Production Timeline: Rehearsals will begin the week of 1/26 via Zoom based on actor availability. Required in-person rehearsal Wednesday, February 5. Performance will be Saturday, February 8 at 7PM at the James Levin Theatre. QUINN - 21 years old. Former partner of JORDAN. Photographer. Broke up with JORDAN shortly after their mental breakdown. DAKOTA - 24 years old. JORDAN's older sister. Has a degree in Education but has yet to get a job. Has been traveling with CASEY, her husband, for the past year. CASEY - 25 years old. DAKOTA's husband and partner all throughout college. Rich trust fund. Passed the bar but has yet to practice law. OLEANDER - Age unknown. The moth-like figure that appears to JORDAN that no one else can see or hear. Tries to convince JORDAN they can become like them through ascension, only possible during a total lunar eclipse. It’s time again for our next free Actor Workshop! This time around, we’re exploring Laban’s Physical Efforts. Those who have enjoyed the physical exploration of Michael Chekhov work or the Viewpoints will find some similarities AND fresh takes on acting technique. For this workshop, we ask that all participants come dressed in clothing that leaves you free to move and with a few lines of text (from anything!) memorized. These lines of text/monologue will only be used to explore the principles of Laban’s Efforts with our voice as well as our bodies (as opposed to a monologue audition workshop). We are pleased to announce that The Hudson Players are holding auditions for The Iliad, the Odyssey, and All of Greek Mythology in 99 Minutes or Less: By Jay Hopkins and John Hunter. Produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French. Auditions are: February 23 & 24 beginning at 7pm. Directed by Dave Stebbins; and will be held at the Barlow Community Center, 41 S. Oviatt St in Hudson. Performances: May 2,3, 9,10,11*, 16, 17 (Sunday, May 11 is a special 2:00 pm matinee). Its funny, updated and made easy to understand. The gods walk the red carpet. The creation of mankind is a botched subcontractors job.
