CPT is seeking *part-time Substitute Teaching Artists* to assist in implementing CPT Education programming. Theatre experience is a plus. We are looking to build a strong core of artists who are dedicated to creating work to further racial and economic justice. This role pays $22/hr. ------------------------------ CMHA CLEVELAND ACT NOW CMHA Cleveland Act Now (CAN) takes place in partnership with the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) at community centers for children and families who live in public housing. Under the guidance of CPT Teaching Artists, young artists learn how to create and perform their own plays, dance, poetry, music, and visual art. These multidisciplinary performing arts activities improve academic skills, instill empathy and responsibility, build character, and enhance creative thinking. The students regularly perform at CMHA community centers as well as arts festivals throughout Cleveland. CMHA CAN is offered in four CMHA communities: Lakeview Terrace, Woodhill Homes, Outhwaite Homes, and Riverside Park. CLEVELAND ACT NOW ACADEMY (CAN ACADEMY) Cleveland Act Now (CAN) Academy is a free performing arts program for younger teens and youth from Cleveland and surrounding neighborhoods, held on-site at Cleveland Public Theatre. The Juniors program serves youth ages 7-10, and the Seniors program serves youth ages 11-14. Young artists engage in rigorous (and fun!) theatre training, learning acting fundamentals, script analysis, storytelling techniques, and play creation. Y-HAVEN THEATRE PROJECT Y-Haven Theatre Project is a program for residents of Y-Haven, a YMCA center providing temporary housing and Substance Use Disorder treatment to individuals who are homeless, re-entering the community from incarceration, and/or recovering from Opioid Use Disorder. The program teaches performing arts and technical aspects of theatre while addressing critical personal, interpersonal, and job-related skills through a comprehensive process. Beck Center for the Arts Youth Theater, one of the oldest continuously running Youth Theaters in the country, will be holding auditions on January 25 and 26, 2025 for their final production in their 76th season. BETWEEN THE LINES Music and Lyrics by Elyssa Samsel & Kate Anderson Book by Timothy Allen McDonald Based on the novel written by Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer Direction and Choreography by Sarah Clare Musical Direction by Heidi Herczeg Between the Lines is an empowering and enchanting new musical for anyone who has ever sought to find their place in the world. Based on the novel by international bestselling author Jodi Picoult and her daughter Samantha van Leer, Between the Lines explores the story of an outsider in a new town and a new school. Delilah seeks comfort in the pages of her favorite book, where she feels heard and understood by the handsome Prince Oliver. But, as the lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur in both extraordinary and astonishing ways, Delilah discovers how to find her place in the real world while keeping her dreams alive. Must have a great pop tenor voice and sense of physicality. Gender: male -- Age: 16 to 20 — Vocal range top: A4/bottom: Bb2 Crutchie A dedicated newsie with a bum leg that’s painful but helps sell more papers. Though he walks with the assistance of a crutch, Crutchie doesn’t let it define him; when in a jam, Jack Kelly’s best friend relies on a goofy- sweet sense of humor and optimistic resilience. Crutchie is the heart of the resistance. Though his movement will suggest his bum leg, Crutchie should still be included in the dance numbers. THE WESTERN RESERVE PLAYHOUSE IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE AUDITIONS FOR… The Most Lamentable Roman Tragedy of… TITUS ANDRONICUS by William Shakespeare Directed by August Scarpelli The brothers Saturninus and Bassianus are in contention for the Roman emperorship. Titus Andronicus, Rome's most honoured general, returns from wars against the Goths with their queen, Tamora, her sons and her lover, Aaron the Moor, as captives. Her eldest son is sacrificed by Titus; she vows revenge. To seal the bond of friendship, the new emperor, Saturnius, offers to marry Titus's daughter Lavinia. She, however, is already pledged to Bassianus. Saturninus, by now infatuated with Tamora, makes her empress instead. Manipulated by Aaron, Tamora's sons, Chiron and Demetrius, avenge their mother by ravishing and mutilating Lavinia. Aaron falsely implicates two of Titus's sons in this murder. In his turn Titus vows revenge and sends his surviving son Lucius to the Goths to raise an army. How will Titus achieve his revenge? It is sure to be delicious As an organization we are deeply committed to inclusive casting and are seeking a diverse cast of 20+ artists who are 18 and older.
