Coach House Theatre in Akron is holding auditions for a young actor who can play a 13-year-old for the season opener, A Thousand Clowns, by Herb Gardner. In this classic comedy, free-spirit Murray is an unconventional, unemployed television comedy writer who is raising his precocious nephew, Nick. When social workers come to check their situation, Murray unwittingly stumbles upon love, and a new course in life. What happens when Cinderella, Jack of Jack and the Beanstalk fame, the Baker and his wife, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, the Witch, Granny, two princes, Snow White, and two Giants all get together for one big play? You get Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine. The Broadway musical which originally starred Bernadette Peters and Joanna Gleason has been made into a movie with Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick and Emily Blunt starring. The Canal Fulton Players will be presenting this fine work on November 11-13, 18-20 at Puffenberger Auditorium at Northwest High School, 8580 Erie Avenue NW, Canal Fulton, Ohio. Auditions will be on August 29-31 at Puffenberger Auditorium at Northwest Hi...gh School, 8580 Erie Avenue NW, Canal Fulton, Ohio from 7:00-9:00 pm. INFORMATION ON REGISTRATION: Registration is now open for Talespinner Children’s Theatre’s Fall Youth Theatre Arts Classes. This upcoming session, classes are September 17th - November 12th (no classes October 15th). At TCT, your young artist will have the chance to practice confidence, collaboration, expression and to stretch their imagination muscles with TCT's professional artist staff. TCT, Cleveland's only professional theatre for children, offers three in-house Youth Theatre Arts courses per year. They take place on location at TCT, 5209 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44102—a 188 seat, ADA compliant theatre located on the eastern edge of the Detroit-Shoreway area of Cleveland's near west side. Great Lakes Theater Seeks Children for A Christmas Carol and Wait Until Dark The auditions, scheduled for Monday, September 12th, are by appointment only. (Cleveland, OH) - Great Lakes Theater (GLT) is seeking child actors of all cultures and backgrounds for roles in our 2016-2017 season. A Christmas Carol Children should be between the ages of seven to thirteen. They should be prepared to sing up to 16 bars of their favorite song and may be asked to read from the script. Rehearsals will begin on November 8th; with performance dates scheduled from November 22nd through December 23rd. Children auditioning for A Christmas Carol may not be fourteen years of age until December 24, 2016 or later. Wait Until Dark Seeking girls between the ages of nine to thirteen for the role of Gloria (a young looking, smart, strong, and somewhat precocious child.) Audition material for children auditioning for Wait Until Dark will be provided when appointments are confirmed. Wait Until Dark will begin its run in 2017 at Great Lakes Theater, then continue on to Idaho Shakespeare Festival for a run in the summer of 2017. Child cast may be asked to commit to full run at both companies. Rehearsals will begin at GLT on January 24th, 2017, with performance dates scheduled from February 17th - March 12th, 2017. Rehearsals will begin at ISF on May 16th, with performance dates scheduled from May 26th - July 30th, 2017. Auditions will be held on Monday, September 12th, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Playhouse Square Rehearsal Halls (1650 Chester Ave). Auditions are by appointment only.
