AUDITIONS FOR "QUEEN OF THE MIST"by Michael John LaChiusa The Broadview Heights Spotlights Theater is seeking seven actor/strong singers for its upcoming production of Michael John LaChiusa’s Queen of the Mist. This will be the second production of this piece after the 2011 New York City premiere. Auditions will be Sunday, August 14, from 3:00 – 5:00PM and Monday, August 15, from 7:00 PM to 9:00PM, and will be held at the Broadview Heights Cultural Arts Building, Home of the Spotlights Theater, 9543 Broadview Road (on the Broadview Center property, next to the Police Department). Callbacks, if necessary, will be held by invitation only on a to-be-determined date later in the week. Those auditioning should bring a list of conflicts between September 6 and November 20. Potential cast must be available for weekend performances between November 4 – 20, 2016. The show will be directed by Tim Anderson and music directed by Ryan Bergeron. The directors strongly suggest that auditioners view the Spotlights’ website below (including the embedded videos about the original production), be familiar the show and its style, and prepare two short musical selections: 1. One song that showcases your ability to sing legit (non-pop/rock) music. 2. World Premiere of OBJECTIVELY/REASONABLE

Playwrights Local announces the world premiere of “Objectively/Reasonable: A Community Response to the Shooting of Tamir Rice, 11/22/14.” Directed by Terrence Spivey, this documentary play addresses the impact and aftermath of the Tamir Rice shooting, expressing unheard voices from the Cudell neighborhood and Greater Cleveland. Created by an ensemble of playwrights, “Objectively/Reasonable” is a collage of original monologues based on interviews with legal experts, social critics, and everyday people. Please join Steppin' Out as they prepare for their latest musical revue. Auditions will be held beginning in September. Sopranos and altos are asked to call Carol at 216-251-9596 for an audition date and time. Steppin' Out is a female show choir. We do a two hour benefit show every May for non-profit organizations in the surrounding community. We then take a scaled down version of that show and perform in and around Northeast Ohio in nursing homes, Independent Living facilities, Christmas gatherings, monthly meetings, etc. Become a part of this great group, which has the honor of being an award winner in the Fox 8 Glee Competition, and has just celebrated 60 years of performing.
