MOON FARM ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS: SUMMER THEATRE CAMP - WORKSHOP by It's here everyone! Camp We Create. Work with award winning artist, actor and musician Craig Jennings. Craig has been traveling the world creating, coaching and performing characters who sing with Cirque du Soleil for the past seventeen years. As co-founder of Camp- We-Create, Craig would like to invite a small group of talented young actors on a theatrical journey. This summer we will use the same acting techniques used by Craig while working on such stages as the Royal Albert Hall in London to the Tokyo dome in Japan. First and foremost, we want our camp to be fun. Our aim is to provide a summer program which comes from a place of play and self discovery. Confidence, creativity, focus, teamwork and problem solving are all benefits of the theatre. Acting classes can help teach life skills to children who explore the stage. It's our greatest delight to share these techniques as we're looking forward to a fun, theatrical summer with an enthusiastic group of talented young artists. *Camp begins June 13th Monday-Friday 9am-4pm (11 weeks) *$225 a week *We are excited offer a 10% discount to campers who book 3 or more weeks. *20% discount for campers booking the entire 11 week workshop. *$25 discount a week for additional family members. The Shaker Arts Council is seeking artists of all disciplines for its 2016-2017 AHa! (At Home with the Arts) series. This series of paying engagements features local professional talent in intimate performance settings aimed at providing a comfortable milieu in which Shaker Heights and Cleveland area audiences can experience diverse art forms and engage with artists. Past series performances have included classical music, popular music, dance, poetry and improv comedy. AHa! events take place in Shaker Heights venues on Friday evenings, beginning with a reception at 7 p.m., followed by a performance of 1-1 ½ hours. Looking for Presidents Casting call for actors who can or do role-play an American President. What: Details to follow, but this is a street acting performance gig where improvisation and audience interaction will make the show. We’re looking for people who have or would like to play one of America’s past Presidents. We need actors to play Abe Lincoln, and we’re especially interested in people who would play one of Ohio’s Presidents: Harrison, Grant, Garfield, Hayes, McKinnley, Harding, or Taft—but the more actors and presidents we have, the better. So step up Bill (Clinton), and where are you Dick (Nixon), we need you? There won’t be any scripts, just background information to become familiar with—we want our actors to have fun and contribute to the making of each performance, to show off their creativity and improvisational skills. Each event will be covered by the media and everyone involved will be credited. When: July 8 - July 17, We’re planning approximately 10 performances, one every day for one hour each, with a few during lunch hour but most after 5:00 PM. Review of "The Wild Party" at Blank Canvas Theatre

Voices soar but staging stalls in Blank Canvas’ ‘The Wild Party’ Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Member, International Association of Theatre Critics “Some love is fire: some love is rust/But the fiercest, cleanest love is lust.” So begins Joseph Moncure March’s seedy, Jazz Age narrative poem “The Wild Party,” on which Andrew Lippa’s lyrical musical of the same name is based. Both lure you into a prohibition-era world that reeks of cheap perfume, gin-saturated sweat, and raging pheromones. The dark and ominous musical, whose 2000 Off-Broadway run garnered Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Obie awards, does so with a brilliant and boozy score. It is currently on display at Blank Canvas Theatre. Like the characters themselves, the music is diverse and often dissonant (think Fosse meets Brecht), offers complex and dramatic key-changes, and has moments that approach atonality which foreshadow the strong likelihood that things will not end well for anyone. It is the performance of this music that is Blank Canvas’ strength and salvation, for the show’s staging does much to undermine this production.
