Kindermusik of Cleveland is hiring for part-time teaching positions. If you have a song in your heart, love to sing, enjoy watching a child's eyes light up through music and are curious about how music affects overall child development, we want to meet you! We are looking to fill at least 2 teaching spots and possibly more. Requirements Able to sing on pitch in a light, pure, pleasing tone. Understanding of basic musical concepts and symbols. Thirst for learning about early childhood development and behaviors. Comfortable leading a class and interacting with parents and children. Able to command a room of people by using your voice. Year-long teaching commitments (40 weeks per year) Computer skills and internet access, email. Comfortable with online learning and using web-based technologies. Training and licensure from Kindermusik International. We will mentor you through this process. Brief Description of Position You’l be learning new songs and activities each week in preparation for teaching. This involves internet access. You’ll be guided and mentored to help you with your classroom experience. You’ll have a consistent schedule each week, be responsible for knowing your lesson plans that are provided, and you’ll follow up with your clients to make sure you are meeting their needs. Special $5 Tickets for School Groups to Verb Ballets' Peter Pan on March 4th Verb Ballets presents the American premiere of Peter Pan the story ballet on Friday, March 4th at the Breen Center for the Performing Arts in Cleveland for school groups. The production includes the professional dancers of Verb Ballets and over 30 children from the Greater Cleveland area. The ballet features custom backdrops created in Switzerland including the Darling Family Nursery, the rooftops of London, the Gypsy camp, and Captain Hook's Ship. Follow along on this magical journey, past the second star to the right and straight on 'til morning, as this classic tale comes to life through dance. Verb Ballets' presents a school matinee on March 4, 2016 at 12:30pm at The Breen Center located at 2008 W. 30th St. in Cleveland. Serve as the chief producer/director/administrator of a well-established and successful youth theater program in Marquette, Michigan. This position involves all artistic and administrative aspects of the program, including producing and directing stage performances, providing vision and leadership, and managing day-to-day operations, such as planning/scheduling, public relations/promotion, grant writing, fundraising, supervising personnel, budgeting and reporting to the board. A part-time employee is available to assist in various areas as assigned by the Director. The Youth Theater Director reports to the SAYT Board of Directors. Anticipated start date is June 1, 2016. *QUALIFICATIONS: *Minimum qualifications include a substantial background in theater, experience producing and directing shows with emphasis on musical theater, administrative/management experience, and experience teaching/working with children. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. *SALARY: *Commensurate with experience ($25,000-35,000). A two-week paid vacation is included.
