Ensemble Theater's Colombi New Plays Festival Preview Tuesday February 23 at 7:00 pm. Beachwood Branch of Cuyahoga County Public Library 25501 Shaker Blvd Please join us for a sneak peak at two new plays written by local playwrights Cynthia Dettelbach and Rannigan Walsh. Both plays will be produced in March/April during the Colombi New Plays Festival at Ensemble Theatre. The playwrights will share with you their journey of writing their plays and provide previews of their scripts. Choices by Cynthia Dettelbach (March 17 - 27) On the eve of the Fox family’s engagement party for their younger son Bill to the “right” girl, elder son Elliot brings home his Muslim girlfriend. And that’s only the beginning of events that shake the foundations of this Midwest Jewish family. One-Act Submissions sought

Arlene's Broadway on Buffalo, 236 Buffalo Street in Conneaut, is seeking contributions by area playwrights for its second-annual Collection of One-Act Plays. The plays will be produced and then presented on the ABOB stage May 20-22. Last year, submissions for the performance included a man who takes love advice from a meatball, a therapy session where not all is as it seems, unusual requests at the reference desk, a man with writers block, an unusual game of charades and a sojourn through three generations of a family. The plays should run about 8-15 minutes and the sky's the limit on topic. Think you've got some directing chops? The performances are also a chance for people to get their feet wet in the ABOB directing racket...we're actively seeking people who have not directed at the theater to take over the reins of these productions. Once chosen, plays will be assigned a director, who will then audition actors, rehearse the material and present it at the performance. Auditions for the 2016 season of the Great Lakes Medieval Faire will be held *March 12th and 13th from 10am to 5pm* at the Geneva Lodge and Conference Center, 4888 North Broadway, Geneva-on-the-Lake OH, 44041. This year, we are performing the tale of *King Arthur*. All lead roles are currently available, along with all supporting cast roles to make up the wide and diverse village of Avaloch. He finds his family's home in ruins and abandoned, save for two former slaves, Simon and John, who wait in the empty house for the family's return. As the three men wait for signs of life to return to the city, they wrestle with their shared past, the bitter irony of Jewish slave-owning and the reality of the new world in which they find themselves. The sun sets on the last night of Passover and Simon - having adopted the religion of his masters - prepares a humble Seder to observe the ancient celebration of the freeing of the Hebrew slaves from Egypt, noting with particular satisfaction the parallels to their current situation. Olde Towne Hall Theatre, 36199 Center Ridge Rd. in North Ridgeville is looking for an Eileen for its upcoming presentation of *Moon Over Buffalo* which runs April 22-May 7. Rehearsals begin on March 1st. This is a non-paid role. Candidates should be petite in stature (5'4" and under preferably) and between 20-30 years old. They should be able to do a British accent and should be willing to wear high heeled pumps on stage. If they have reddish-auburn hair it is a plus, but not necessary. Eileen is a pretty, flighty, naïve young lady who has a one night stand with George, the main character. *Moon Over Buffalo *is a raucous farce about a dysfunctional theater troupe performing at the Erlander Theatre in Buffalo, New York, in 1953. The diva lead actress, Charlotte Hay, is barely tolerant of her philandering semi-alcoholic husband, George, and mishaps and confusions arise for the company when presented the opportunity of famed film director Frank Capra attending a performance to possibly cast the two for a movie.
