*The Wadsworth Footlighters will be presenting The Star on My Heart at The Strand Company, located at 123 Broad St., in Wadsworth, on March 4 at 7:30pm and March 5 at 2:30 and 7:30pm. Tickets are $10/adults and $5/students and will be sold at the door.* *The Star on My Heart* is an original play based on Holocaust survivor Inge Auerbacher's memoirs, adapted and directed by Angela Miloro-Hansen. In 2013 Angela won OCTA awards for a show she directed at Geauga Lyric Theater called *I Never Saw Another Butterfly*, by Celeste Raspanti. It told the story of the children imprisoned in the Theresienstadt (Terezin) concentration camp near Prague. Of fifteen thousand children who passed through Terezin, it is believed that approximately one hundred survived. Then GLTG Executive director Chris Cipriani made contact with one of these child survivors, Inge Auerbacher. Inge inspired the cast with a telephone conversation on opening night and a relationship with Dr. Auerbacher evolved. Inge expressed a desire to have her story staged, and Angela Miloro-Hansen was asked to author the script. Writer/Director Miloro-Hansen has been active in theater since 1999, and is a 2010 Hiram College graduate. She directs, teaches and acts on a regular basis and serves as the Educational Outreach Coordinator for Geauga Lyric Theater in Chardon, Ohio. Chris Cipriani, now Director of Programming at Shore Cultural Centre in Euclid, is serving as the project and educational outreach coordinator. After two years of collaboration, *The Star on My Heart* premiered in November 2015. It tells of Inge's experiences during the war in Terezin, and her survival and recovery in New York City, where she still lives today. After liberation, Inge came to America and spent two years in a tuberculosis hospital. She began high school with only one year of schooling under her belt, and graduated in three years. Inge worked as a chemist for 38 years. She now travels and speaks on the topics of tolerance, the Holocaust and human rights. Stow Players Wraps-Up 62nd Season With Wacky Comedy Humor, resourcefulness, and self-realization all come together in the Stow Players March production, The Psychic, a rollicking comedy by Sam Bobrick, as the Players bring their 62nd year of quality community theater to a hilarious close. The Los Angeles Theatre Examiner calls it "Engaging, surprising, clever and funny.offering audiences everything they could ask for in a comedy mystery." The Psychic will be presented at the Heritage Barn in Stow's Silver Springs Park, opening on March 4, 2016, and running through Saturday, March 19. The Psychic follows the chaotic life of Adam Webster (John Peters of Akron), a down-on-his-luck mystery writer unable to pay his rent. In desperation he hangs up a sign in his apartment window: "Psychic Readings $25." To his surprise, he blurts out to his first customer, the lovely and conflicted Laura (Anna-Jeannine K. Herman of Akron), that her shady husband Roy (Scott K. Davis of Akron) is planning to murder her. Roy's mistress Rita (Natalie Romano of Cleveland) and a gangster named Johnny Bubbles (Matt Smith of Stow) both find their way to Adam's apartment and psychic readings as well. In the surprising twists that wind their way throughout the play, The Psychic entangles Adam in a hilarious murder mystery that can only be solved by NYPD Detective Norris Coslow (Dave Sherman of Macedonia). Chris Bizub of Cleveland is the director of The Psychic; props designer is Stow Players President and Treasurer Pat Robertell-Hudson. Bill Morgan is the lights and sound designer; Tom Marshall is the set designer and construction head. The Psychic opens on Friday, March 4, 2016, and runs for three weekends, through March 19. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8:00 pm, and there is one Sunday matinee, March 13, at 2:30 pm. Ticket prices are $13 for General Admission and $10 for Senior Citizens and students. Rubber City Shakespeare Company is casting non-equity actors for its spring production of William Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors, directed by Michele McNeal. *All roles are available.* Auditions are February 24th from 6pm-9pm, as well as February 27th from 5:30pm-7pm. Auditions are held at the Summit Artspace 140 E. Market St. Akron, OH 44308. The production runs April 1st-17th, Thursday- Saturday evenings and Sunday matinees. Rehearsals begin March 6th through March 31, from 6:30-10pm (Sunday-Thursday) with the exception of tech week which is 6-11pm. Double Tech will be on SATURDAY March 26th from 10am-8pm.
