When Bonnie and Clyde meet, their mutual cravings for excitement and fame immediately set them on a mission to chase their dreams. Their bold and reckless behavior turns the young lovers' thrilling adventure into a downward spiral, putting themselves and their loved ones in trouble with the law. ‘The Investigation’ by Cesear’s Forum reveals little Bob Abelman Cleveland Jewish News, The News Herald, The Morning Journal Member, International Association of Theatre Critics Peter Weiss’ “The Investigation” – a documentary drama based on actual testimony given during the Frankfurt investigation into the Auschwitz death camp – has the potential to be an immensely moving and genuinely unsettling piece of theater. The material is certainly graphic and important enough. But in the current staging of this play by Cesear’s Forum, in partnership with the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland and Violins of Hope, the work is lifeless. This is because director Greg Cesear has little faith that the words can speak for themselves and offers his assistance to make the play – a dramatic rendering of court transcripts – more inventive.
