Sparks fly at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory as union leader Babe Williams lobbies the superintendent Sid Sorokin for a 7 ½ cent raise for the workers. Things come to a head when Babe organizes a strike, setting off a conflict of workers versus management as well as a battle of the sexes. With an energetic score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, The Pajama Game flaunts a slew of upbeat musical standards including "Steam Heat" and "Hernando's Hideaway." The show won the Tony for Best Musical for its original 1955 production, and was nominated for Best Revival of a Musical in 2006, proving that classics never go out of style! SUBSCRIPTION TICKETS FOR LCCC STOCKER ARTS CENTER'S 2015-2016 PERFORMING ARTISTS SERIES NOW ON SALE Subscription tickets are now on sale for the 2015-2016 Stocker Arts Center Performing Artists Series season. This unique set of six shows is once-in-a-lifetime experience for the audience to be enjoyed live on stage. Stocker Arts Center provides the best of the arts at affordable ticket prices close to home. For ticket information on any of the performances or to receive a season brochure, call the Stocker Arts Center box office at (440) 366-4040. The box office hours are Monday-Friday, 12-6 p.m. and one and a half hours prior to curtain time. Information is available online at www.stockerartscenter.com. This type of funding strengthens our community and enriches the quality of life in our neighborhoods for people of all ages. We’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit more about this extremely important funding partner. The financial support received from the residents of Cuyahoga County through Cuyahoga Arts & Culture will help Mamai Theatre Company bring you our third production this season: Ariel Dorfman’s important play, Death and the Maiden. In keeping with our mission to create equal opportunity for women in the professional theatre, this production features a strong female protagonist and is directed by a woman. Cuyahoga Arts & Culture is the public funder of arts and culture organizations, programs and events in Cuyahoga County. Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s sole funding source is a dedicated cigarette tax levied within Cuyahoga County. Established by voters in 2007, CAC has awarded over 1,200 grants since then, distributing over $125 million in tax dollars to more than 300 organizations based in the County. Cuyahoga Arts & Culture’s sole funding source is a dedicated tax within Cuyahoga County. Renewal of this funding source will be on the ballot on November 3 for voters to consider.
