LAURA: QUEEN OF THE YOUNG East Indie Films is currently seeking actors/actresses for paid roles in a short film “Laura, Queen of the Young”, written by Philip Hirzel. Genre: Dry Comedy Plot Summary: Laura is a strange girl who easily manipulates those around her. When she arrives at her friend’s party, she declares she’ll make out with 3 boys before the end of the night, though her motives are not so easily realized. The shoot is slated for Late Summer/Early Fall 2015 in Cleveland, Ohio. LAURA (20s FEMALE) - Strange, brilliant, and stubborn. She gets what she wants, does what she wants, and sees most people as playthings. SUSAN (20s FEMALE) - The host of the party. Tired, but supportive. She’s Laura’s only real friend, and navigates her minefield brain cautiously. RUSSEL (20s MALE) - A nebbish young man who came to the party with a friend. Hangs on the wall away from the action until singled out by Laura. CRAIG (20s MALE) - A typical dudebro. Likes beer pong and spending time with his buddies. Becomes Laura’s second target. JAMES (20s MALE) - Laura’s ex. Handsome and thoughtful, he doesn’t expect to run into Laura so soon, but must confront her eventually.

Swing dance at the Slovenian Workmen's Home with Blue Lunch on Saturday, May 30th

Everyone is welcome to attend. We don't care if you don't now how to dance or don't ever want to learn. The bands are always good, so stop by and have a listen. If you want to learn to dance we have lessons. If you need a partner, no worries. We have plenty of people who attend the group lessons and we rotate partners during those lessons. That makes the lessons extra fun! Be sure to arrive in time to take part in the easy jitterbug lesson from 8pm to 9pm. Conner Phillips and Megan Hallstrom will be teaching the fantastic lesson. We always review the basic Jitterbug step, talk about the basics of leading and following, and then show a few new moves. Each lesson is unique and you will always pick up new moves and hints each time you attend a pre-dance lesson at a Get Hep Swing event. These lessons are appropriate for brand new dancers all the way up to advanced dancers. You will not be disappointed! Immediately after the lesson (at 9 PM) Blue Lunch will kick off an awesome night of music and swing dancing until 12am. Only $12 per person. No need to RSVP or buy tickets in advance. Pay in cash at the door. The Waterloo Ballroom at the Slovenian Workman's Home is located in the very artsy and lively Collinwood neighborhood. The address is 15335 Waterloo Rd, Cleveland, Ohio 44110. The Slovenian not only has a beautiful ballroom; they also have a well stocked bar. They have alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks of all kinds for sale--including a very special Slovenian beer- Lasko! There are TWO parking lots to the right of the ballroom and there is also some street parking as well. However, if you can carpool with friends that would be recommended. We also have a security guard who keeps an eye on the hall and both parking lots. Warning: Graphic language and situations will be used, but no men will be harmed in the creation or performance of this cabaret! This cabaret is intended for adults only. By special arrangement with the Broadview Heights City Council, audience members are invited to bring a bottle of wine to enjoy. LAST CHANCE TO EXPERIENCE "WOLVES" THIS WEEKEND AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM. "WOLVES" MAKES ITS FINAL THRILLING (AND FUNNY!) PROWL THIS THURS-SAT. Ben has recently moved from a small town to the big city, where he shares a tiny apartment with Jack. But Ben has an outrageous fear of the city, which he thinks of as the deep, dark forest, and is terrified of the wolves he believes that prowl it. To taunt the clingy, jealous Ben, Jack goes cruising at a bar one night and brings home a wolf. Though a series of misunderstandings and mix-ups, things turn violent (ax is involved!) and its up to the crafty female narrator to guide us through the mayhem of this postmodern urban fracturing of the Red Riding Hood tale. WOLVES has its final three performances this Thu-Sat at 8 pm, at the Liminis theater, 2438 Scranton Rd. Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 seniors (65+), $10 students.
