The Mandel Jewish Community Center of Cleveland seeks applicants for its Director/Assistant Director of Playmakers Youth Theatre and the Francine and Benson Piloff Playmakers Performing Arts Camp position. As part of the leadership team of the Mandel JCC, this position is responsible for conceiving, developing, and implementing the artistic vision and focus of year round and summer camp programs. The Director/Assistant Director also works closely with the Playmakers Committee to ensure that the program is growing and evolving to meet the needs of the Agency and the community in a manner that is consistent with its Strategic Plan. Typical duties include, but are not limited to, the following: * Promotes the Jewish mission and purpose of the Mandel JCC through programming. * Develops, implements, and evaluates theatre productions for year round and summer camp programs. * Creates and implements new programming to expand and further develop the Playmakers program. * Directs up to five theatre productions and up to eight summer camp productions each year. * Ensures all aspects of theatre productions are completed within budget in keeping with the designer's and director's wishes and in time for the first public performance. * Oversees the direction of all productions-attends technical rehearsals, provides support to the directors and casts, and provides production notes as needed. * Secures the rights and royalties from royalty companies. * Hires, supervises, and evaluates artistic, technical, administrative, and seasonal staff. * Creates staff training curriculum for all staff. * Guides camp leadership team in the development and implementation of camp programming. Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree or a Bachelor's degree in a related field as well as three to five years of experience in and/or directing large scale musical and non-musical productions. Proven experience working with children of all ages in a camp, school, or theatre setting is also required. Applicants will have working knowledge of financial management procedures, short and long term planning methods, and program development experience. PAID POSITION as Music Director for Bye Bye Birdie at The Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County

The Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County is currently searching for a music director for its summer production of Bye Bye Birdie. The show has been cast and rehearsals begin on May 25th with music rehearsals beginning on May 26th. Rehearsals will run weekly from early Sunday evenings through Thursday evenings. Nightly attendance is required from May 26th through June 9th as the music will be taught before other production aspects begin. After the first two weeks of rehearsal, the music director will only be required to attend two rehearsals a week. Those days may be chosen by the music director. The show dates are July 10th, 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 24th, and 25th. Again, this is a paid position. *Position: Theater Director* *Job Description* Candidate will have some theater experience, and preferably directing experience (although directing is not mandatory), and have enthusiasm for “theater as a cause.” Candidate should have a background in and passion for youth work. Candidate should be familiar with how to recognize intimate partner abuse, and prevention education, *OR* will attend trainings with the Know Abuse teens. This candidate will work closely with, and be supervised by, the Prevention Coordinator. The candidate must be open to the idea of peer leadership, and will work closely and collaborate with teen actors and peer leaders. This candidate will be responsible for: 1. Participating in the May 3rd, 2015 Kick-Off retreat. 1. Preparing and rehearsing the cast during summer training 4 evenings a week for 4 weeks in June/July, and two weeks plus season kick-off in August. 1. Rehearsing the cast for 2-4 hours (to be determined by Director) the Sunday before a performance. This is usually once-twice a month. 1. Attend and help Coordinator with once-monthly all-group meetings. This might include, but is not limited to: 1. Leading team-building exercises 2. Administrative work such as collecting signatures 3.
