Come dance with us! Come drum with us! Come and celebrate our Cultural Connections!!! Join us at the 6th annual Cleveland African Dance and Drum Festival hosted by Djapo Cultural Arts Imstitute. This year's event celebrates the life-long connections that are made to enhance the lives of family, self, and community while interlacing a theatrical infusion of dance, poetry, drumming and song from June 20th to June 21st. Saturday and Sunday features a community-wide African dance and drum conference with master teachers from Senegal, Mali, Guinea, Ivory Coast and the United States. Saturday night features “Connections” – a Juneteenth Concert performance choreographed and produced by noted artist, choreographer and dancer Talise Campbell. Cleveland's own Djapo Cultural Arts Institute will join master teachers and area performers for a moving tribute in celebration of our continuing legacy, conceivable through our connections made through our rising journey. Address is below, please arrive after 6:00 pm, and no later than 6:20. We will be filming at the Willoughby Hills City Hall & Police Station. These extra roles will receive IMDB credit, but are non-paid and non-union. For "costumes" please do not wear anything with a logo. This scene is a preliminary hearing taking place in inner city Cleveland, the oldest brother of the main character has just been arrested, and is now being held at his preliminary hearing. People wear anything an everything in inner city preliminary hearings, from people rolling in in shorts all the way to people dressed for work on a Monday in full business dress. First musical, "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown, " to open at ABOB!

Arlene’s Broadway on Buffalo (ABOB), 236 Buffalo Street, Conneaut, OH, will reach another milestone Friday, May 15, when it hosts its first musical, “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.” The show, under the direction of Stephen Rhodes, consists of a fast-paced series of vignettes and catchy songs capturing the flavor of the beloved Peanuts gang. Memorable songs include “Happiness,” “Suppertime” and “Book Report.” The six-person cast is accompanied by Nora Giangola on piano and “Doc” Heidrich on drums. Doors open at 7 p.m. and curtain is at 7:30. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and may be purchased at the door. All seating is first-come, first-served. Parking is on-street. ABOB is located in a converted turn-of-the-century church in Conneaut’s downtown area. The first Full Circle Storytelling will be held on Tuesday, May 19th from 6 pm – 7:30 pm at Firestone Park Branch Library, located at 1486 Aster Avenue in Akron, Ohio.
