*Tai Chi Institute USA is pleased to present:* Meditation/Acupressure Workshop Several stationary and moving meditation techniques will be taught to help you connect with your inner self and the world around you. Regular meditation has been shown to be extremely beneficial to the mind, body and spirit. Meditation can relieve tension and stress, enhance focus and awareness, release energy blocks, balance blood pressure, create a positive outlook on life and feel better and younger, gain a sense of calmness and well-being and lessen mood swings. You will also learn the fundamentals of acupressure and medical massage to help give relief to common afflictions such as headaches, digestive irregularities, menstrual problems and back pain. Certain techniques can be self-administered while others require a partner. All that is needed is comfortable clothing and a mat for meditation and acupressure. Theater Ninjas is holding auditions for Tall Skinny Cruel Cruel Boys by Caroline V. McGraw, directed by Artistic Director Jeremy Paul. Tall Skinny Cruel Cruel Boys will run October 22-November 7, with rehearsals beginning in mid-September. Brandy is a children’s entertainer with some serious demons in her personal life, not to mention the red-clawed monster that lives under her bed. She moves through life like a car crash, bringing illicit lovers, strange little girls and other broken friends along for the ride. Written by Cleveland native and Kilroy’s nominated playwright Caroline V. McGraw, Tall Skinny Cruel Cruel Boys is a bold dark comedy about self-destruction, honesty and finding what you really need. Audition dates: April 17: 6:00pm or 7:00pm April 19: 12:00pm (1 spot remaining) or 1:00pm Auditions will be held in a group in 45 minute blocks. Please be prepared to stay the entire time. Practical, grounded in reality wife, who has a strong disposition, but retains a sweet, teasing sense of humor. * Ringmaster: Baritone (plays 25-50). This character is the “story-teller”. * James Bailey: Baritone (plays 25-50). Character at the end of the show who convinces Barnum to go back into the circus business. Role can be combined with the ringmaster. * Jenny Lind: Coluratura Soprano (plays 25-40). Beautiful operatic singer who is Barnum’s romantic interest. * Joyce Heth: Alto/Belt (plays elderly woman). Plays the “Oldest Woman Alive”. * Blues Singer: Alto/Belt. Role may be combined with Joyce Heth. * General Tom Thumb: Tenor (plays age 15-30).
