Porthouse Theatre seeks two children for special appearance in West Side Story. Looking for male and female identifying children who appear to be between 6-10 (They can be older if they look young). All races and ethnicities encouraged to audition. Please submit a ballad with accompaniment not to exceed 1 minute. (The children will be singing “Somewhere” and will also appear in the final scene of the show.) Submission can be sent to the Producing Artistic Director, Terri Kent, at tkent(a)kent.edu. Rehearsals begin July 12 and run through July 28 and are Tuesday through Sunday 10-6. Performances run July 28-August 14, Tuesday-Saturday at 8:00 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM. Tech week is July 26-28 and rehearsals will switch to an afternoon/evening schedule. The children will be called to rehearsal ONLY WHEN NEEDED. A gas stipend is available. Joni L. Hi! I would like to submit information on adult ballet classes (two different levels) being held at Sound Motion Dance Academy in Fairview Park beginning July 2nd. Thank you! Elizabeth Benda NEW adult BALLET classes held at Sound Motion Dance Academy will begin July 2nd. Intermediate Adult Ballet held on Saturdays from 10:00-11:30 will focus on cementing the use of correct posture, proper feet placement, port de bra, and spatial awareness and more! Professional Adult Ballet held on Saturdays from 11:30-1:00 provides professional level dancers 18+ another opportunity to train and grow as a ballet artist. With lyrics and music by the late Stephen Sondheim and a book by James Goldman, "Follies" imagines the reunion of ex-Follies performers amid a crumbling theatre, soon to be razed for a parking lot. * *Amid the reminiscing, two middle-aged couples confront some unpleasant truths about their past and present, coming face-to-face with not only their future but their past selves. The former stars of the Follies relieve memories and stumble through old numbers and somewhat magically experience their old hits from Broadway's past in the Sondheim songs. * * Callbacks will be held, in person by invitation only, on Saturday, August 6 between 1:00 AND 4:00 PM at Lakeland Community College. * *Great roles for women and men of all ethnicities and ages.
