Cleveland Public Theatre *Test Flight* *Request for Proposals* CPT is again seeking proposals for Test Flight, our multi-week play development series, which offers artists and groups from all over the world the opportunity to co-produce workshop productions of theatre, dance, performance art, music, or genre-defying performances. Those artists and groups chosen to participate in Test Flight receive professional mentorship and support as they experiment throughout the process. We are searching for work that is outside the mainstream aesthetically, thematically, or in the creative process. This series is for work that is *beyond staged reading or rough draft, but not yet ready for full production.* Test Flight is about moving projects forward, so we are interested in projects that have a sense of trajectory, direction, or plan to move to the next step after Test Flight. The Brecksville Theatre is seeking set designers for 42nd Street and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jr. 42nd Street: Show opens Sept. 16 & set needs to be complete for tech by Sept. 8 at the latest. It is our first show after summer so design and build can begin any time after July 1. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jr.: Show opens Nov. 4, set needs to be complete for tech by Oct. 28. Strike for prior show is Oct. 2 and build can begin building on stage immediately following. Use of scene shop for pre-build is available after September 16. Lewis Auditions: June 20, 2022 at 5:30 pm June 21, 2022 at 5:30 pm Auditions Location: Acme Fresh Market Community Room (inside Acme Grocery Store) 3979 Medina Rd. Montrose, Ohio 44333 Dates of Production: August 5-7, 2022 Production Location: Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio Rehearsals begin July 18, 2022 in Akron, Ohio. Rehearsals will be held daily from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday until the one (1) week prior of performance. Tech Week rehearsal will vary based on needs of the performance. We are looking for African American actors, both male and female, ages 22-55. *Cast List:* Narrator, male, Any age, has a deep voice, not seen on stage Nikki, female, 27, is a genius at spades Marcus, male, 25, plays spades pretty well Dwayne, male, 28, heavyset but handsome, Nikki's Fiance Alexis, female, 22, sucks at playing spades Michelle, female, 55, matriarch of the family, everyone knows she is the boss Robert, male, 54, patriarch of the family, Auditions will be open call and consist of cold readings from the script and/or a prepared comedic monologue from a published work no longer than one minute. You do not need to be a professional dancer to attend these classes. 18 & older and basic dance foundation is the only requirement. Company Class (Advanced/Professional & College): These classes are geared for more advanced movers, specifically professional and college dancers. Classes will be taught at the advanced level. Modern/Contemporary: This class will focus on the core concepts of space, time and energy as well as the qualitative approach to movement. Each class will integrate a wide range of modern techniques exploring concepts of weight, quality, effort, spatial/physical awareness and clarity in movement. Ballet: This class will consist of classical and contemporary ballet techniques. While focusing on working from an anatomical approach, this class class with emphasize creating honest and sound movement, correct placement of bones, and allowing muscles to function effortlessly and efficiently. Dancers are encouraged to take artistic risk, think independently and to explore their qualitative approach to movement. The ballet curriculum will include Vaganova, Cecchetti and Balanchine techniques. Hiring Modern/Contemporary Dancers for our 2022 - 2023 Season! TMP Company Position The Movement Project is actively seeking well-rounded dancers with a wide range of skill sets, including a strong background in modern/contemporary, ballet, composition, and pedagogy. TMP company members' responsibilities include (but are not limited to) rehearsals, technique classes, performances, composition, teaching, outreach engagements, and weekly administrative duties/roles. TMP Company Contract 10 - month contract (1-year agreement starting August 22nd, 2022) with hourly wage, performance stipend, outreach stipend, and company class. The Movement Project rehearses Mondays & Wednesdays 8:00 - 3:00 pm. Additional outreach opportunities, art events, and performances are scheduled throughout the season. TMP Seasonal Intern Position The Movement Project is well-rounded dancer with a wide-range of skill sets, including a strong background in modern/contemporary, ballet, composition, and pedagogy. TMP seasonal intern responsibilities include (but are not limited to) rehearsals, technique classes, performances, composition, teaching, outreach engagements, summer intensive RA and weekly administrative duties/roles.
