The Kent Trumbull Theatre is please to announce auditions for its December production of Tom Dudzick's "Greetings!" directed by Eric S. Kildow. Auditions will be held at the Theatre on the campus of Kent State University at Trumbull in Warren, OH, October 19 & 20, 5pm to 8:30 pm. Show dates are December 4, 5, 11 & 12 at 8 pm ; December 6 & 13 at 3 pm --AUDITION REQUIREMENTS-- Actors will be provided cold readings from the script. Auditions are open to the public. --PLOT SUMMARY-- Andy has a sweet Catholic mother, a sour Catholic father and an intellectually disabled younger brother named Mickey. When he brings his Jewish, atheist fiance to meet the folks on Christmas Eve, his worst fears about family blow-ups are realized. But when Mickey, whose entire vocabulary has been limited to "oh boy" and "wow," suddenly spouts the word "Greetings!," the entire family's belief system is turned upside down. Olde Towne Hall Theatre, located at 38199 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville, Ohio, is all ready to scare you to death...almost....in their upcoming production of, "Wait Until Dark." Frederick Knott's thriller is the story of Susy Hendrix, a recently blinded housewife who unwittingly possesses a doll filled with illicit drugs. Harry Roat, a brutal and sophisticated criminal, coerces two small-time thugs into helping him con Susy into giving up the doll. A battle of wits ensues as Susy and the young girl upstairs launch a counterplot against the thieves. The drama plays on the themes of darkness and light as Susy navigates through her sightless world, and the crooks signal each other with light through the Venetian blinds. Remaining dates of production are October 16, 17, at 7:30 p.m.; October 18 at 3:00 p.m.; and October 23,and 24 at 7:30.Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and children $10. SATURDAY 7PM, ONLY $5 at The Lorain Palace Theater: Six Weeks of Scary continues with Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall giving commanding performances in Stanley Kubrick's psychotic take on Stephen King's "The Shining" . Only Kubrick could craft this amazing, artful original trailer for "The Shining". Interestingly enough at the time of release, it was the policy of the MPAA to not allow the portrayal of blood in trailers that would be approved for all audiences. Bizarrely, the trailer for "The Shining" consists entirely of the shot of blood pouring out of the elevator. Stanley Kubrick had convinced the board the blood flooding out of the elevator was actually rusty water. Doors open at 6PM as does the Chandelier Bar! Ms. Trixie M. Gurleen will be hosting the evening and our first ever "Heeeeeere's Johnny" contest on stage...so practice your best Nicholson everyone.
