Two weeks until "End Days" auditions. Be a part of this intriguing mixture of faith and science! Auditions are Dec. 13, 14 with possible callbacks on Dec. 15. All start at 7pm. Director: Theresa Benyo Marzullo Producer: Kourtney Daugherty Debora Zoe Laufer's amusing story of a mother who believes The Rapture is at hand, a husband who hasn't shed his pajamas in years, their 'goth' daughter, and her nerdy admirer. An intriguing and unusual play in which Jesus, Stephen Hawking, and the mysteries of the universe all play a part. A unique script with many funny, yet touching, moments as the four main characters battle through their own personal challenges. The director is seeking need actors that can play up the funny moments without being caricatures. Character Descriptions:Note: Actors auditioning for RACHEL and NELSON need to look high school age, but not necessarily be in high school.RACHEL STEIN - 16ish, nihilistic Goth. Feels angry and orphaned since 9/11, as both of her parents have withdrawn into their own worlds.SYLVIA STEIN - her mother. 40's to 50's. Newly Evangelical, with a close, personal relationship to Jesus.ARTHUR STEIN - her father. 40's to 50's. Deeply depressed.NELSON STEINBERG - also 16ish. Their new neighbor. Station Hope//Road to Hope Deadline for submissions is Tuesday, December 15th. Cleveland Public Theatre is planning the third annual STATION HOPE, a one night event of entertainment and art inspired by the history of St. John's Church and the Underground Railroad, the repercussions of oppression, and contemporary struggles for social justice on April 30, 2016. ROAD TO HOPE is a series of performances and art projects that will be programmed in various sites in the Cleveland area. Road to Hope expands our work to include other neighborhoods in our community and will offer additional opportunities for artists and audiences February-April, 2016. Station Hope Format Audiences explore the St. John's campus on the corner of W 26th St and Church Ave. With 30+ performances to choose from, attendees will encounter choirs, dance, theatre, intimate solo performance, and interactive art - all happening at the same time in multiple indoor and outdoor venues. Most Station Hope performances are 10 - 15 minutes in length, presented multiple times throughout the evening. Art installations will range from large to small, depending on the individual needs and space available. Road to Hope Format Road to Hope is a new program in development. This will be an experiment as we learn about the best way to support artists and have the maximum impact on the community. Currently we are envisioning a wide range of possibilities: * full length works * a sort of "truth vaudeville" format with a variety of acts * a mini-Station Hope event with multiple short acts in multiple spaces * community participatory performance events (like Parade the Circle) * installation and duration pieces * and a variety of other permutations. How to get involved with "Hope" These are large and complex projects, and we need a lot of support to make it a success. There are many different roles available; ranging from creative to technical assistance. Below is a list of different ways to participate in the event: Lead Artist: Lead a team of collaborators (or work individually) to create an original piece of theatre, performance, choir or visual art. A Lead Artist can be an individual or an organization. Lead Artists will be selected through an application process, outlined in this document. Actor: There will be multiple opportunities in various performances. CPT will compile and share an "Interested Actor" list with all Lead Artists. Casting decisions are in the complete control of the Lead Artists. Stage Management & Technical Support: We will need help setting up spaces and running those spaces during the event(s). Volunteer: There will be multiple volunteer needs to make this event run smoothly, such as parking assistance, ticket takers, runners, etc. CPT will forward your information to our partners that are managing the volunteers. Join Eric van Baars, Natalie Green, Dan Hendrock, John Krol along with more than a dozen HBTI and FPAC alums for a day designed to help prepare for the next step. T This one-day workshop, for students in 8th- college, includes audition information for commercials, film, voice-overs, semi professional and professional theaters and college auditions. Subjects covered will include typing, slating, audition selections, resume materials, dress, handling callback materials, audition material selection, vocal range, theatrical energy for the space, and helpful suggestions. The day ends with a panel discussion with former students who are currently enrolled in BFA, BA or other university theatre programs. Hear about their experiences first hand! Parma Symphony Orchestra in Concert this Sunday at 3pm

The Parma Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Valley Forge High School Auditorium located at 9999 Independence Boulevard in Parma Heights. Music Director Dr. Randolph P. Laycock will feature Andrew Sords, violin & Sawyer Thomson, cello performing: Brahms Double Concerto in A minor, Op. 102 and a selection of Holiday Favorites The orchestra, in its 47th season consists of 75 members of all walks of life from all over the entire Greater Cleveland area. They meet weekly for rehearsals and present at least four concerts annually. General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Family passes of $20 are available for families of up to 2 adults and their children. All tickets are available at the door beginning at 2:30 PM. The Parma Symphony Orchestra is a self-supporting community orchestra in cooperation with the Parma City Schools. A Casting Call for the stage play sequel of "Love is Patient" will be held this Tuesday, December 8th from 6-8 pm. The production will be held in Akron, Ohio on Friday, May 13th, 2016.
