CPH is holding joint 2015-16 Season General Auditions for local actors, with Dobama Theatre. You will be able to be seen by both companies with a single audition. These auditions are by appointment only. Open to non-Equity and Equity actors. This open call is for the theatres' seasons in general. Performers will be contacted at a later date should the opportunity to audition for specific productions arise. Young Performer (under age 13) auditions for CPH's production of A Christmas Story will be held in September. EVENT: Dover Players Presents Sherlock and the Woman SHERLOCK HOLMES IS BACK! This April, the Dover Players community theater group presents Sherlock and the Woman, written and adapted by Todd Evangelista, Ben Saylor and Emily Rhinehelder and directed by Todd Evangelista. This is the last weekend to see the show so reserve your seats now! Sherlock and the Woman After Sherlock Holmes was bested by Irene Adler, he referred to her as the woman. Late in their lives they meet again and remember their history together: from their meeting during a Scandal in Bohemia, from when he had to rescue her in the case of the Vatican Cameos, when they worked together saving the Khalifa in Khartoum, and when she rescued him while they saved Count Von und Zu Grafenstein. Audience members will have a chance to match wits with the famous detective in determining the name of the killer by circling the suspect's name on the program insert during intermission. Despite his good intentions, he became one of the most despised men of the Industrial Era. Jeffrey Sweet's American Enterprise is a sweeping journey through the late nineteenth century. Canal Fulton Players- Auditions for the original play, An American Family

An American Family opens on June 19 with auditions on April 27-28 Life for Jack Van Wert, recently divorced at the age of sixty, and for Janice Loeffler, recently jilted at the altar at the age of twenty two, could not get any worse. However, on a fateful night, Jack, thinking he is going to meet a forty five year old woman on a blind date, and Janice, thinking she is going to meet a twenty eight year old man also on a blind date, come to Petra and Scott Thomas’ apartment for dinner only to discover that Scott got the days mixed up. Jack was supposed to be the next night and not that night. Furious over being matched together, they leave the apartment without dinner. When they cool off, Jack offers to buy Janice a sandwich at a local restaurant he frequents. What happens next starts as one character states in the play, a whole new life and a whole new relationship. This comedy which explores numerous modern social issues is written by David Van Gaasbeek. After his mother died in 2012, Mr. Van Gaasbeek to cope with the grief began writing a play based on a discarded improvisational skit in which a blind date is botched. What comes forward is how a family totally destroyed by divorce rebuilds itself entirely through a new relationship. The play deals with various adult themes through comedy and parents are cautioned to contact Mr. Van Gaasbeek at 330-494-1022 or 330-854-4387 to discover if the issues are appropriate for their child. For those over the age of eighteen, be prepared to laugh as Jack and Janice go through some very interesting events in their lives as they and their families come to grip with the results of a botched blind date. The play will be presented at the SALT Box Ministries, 408 West Market Street, Canal Fulton, Ohio on June 19-21, 26-28. Auditions will be held on April 27 and 28 at 7:00 pm at Community Connections, 2381 South Locust Street, Canal Fulton, Ohio. No experience necessary!!! *About the Session:* Chogyam Trungpa was a Tibetan monk and master meditation teacher who fled to the west after the Tibetan Uprising in 1959. He ultimately settled in North America, founding Naropa University in Boulder, CO and an international network of Shambhala meditation centers. His writings and teachings touch on virtually every subject, and in the mid 1970's, working with a group of American students, he developed a series of exercises and theatre texts designed to explore group dynamics drawing upon meditation, monastic dance and western theatrical principles. This workshop will present some of the basic elements of Mudra Space awareness, including a group exploration of physical actions and readings/discussions of selected Trungpa performance texts. The role of mindfulness meditation in the actor's creative process will also be explored in practice and discussion. * About the Instructor: * JT Buck is a stage director, writer, musician, producer and meditator. After 16 years of work in the field, including hundreds of productions, classes and events across 5 states, he went back to school in 2013 for an MA in Arts Admin. from the University of Akron.
